Longest number of hours you spend on your PS3 in a day

Hi guys, I love my PS3. Even though the PS4 is coming along, I think I'll be playing the PS3 long after the PS4 has been released. Though my PS3 playing hours have diminished ever since I have started work, I still have some quality play time during the weekends. I even sometimes go so far as play 6 hours straight on my PS3! What about you?

During the winter, my cousin and I both got laid off from our job, so we decided on having what we refered to as a Maddathon. I think we played 36 hours of Madden, both online against random people and against each other. It's not something that we have the ability to do often having adult responsibilities, but I'll say it was a lot of fun and we both got exponentially better from that marathon itself.

Yes, Madden is my time suck too. I played through a boat load of seasons in franchise mode. I must have gone back and forth between ncaa and madden for 15-18 hours one day. It was literally from the time I woke up until the time that I went to sleep. I used to do the same thing with age of empires. Sometimes this video game habit is worse than hard drugs.

On weekdays, I spend about 2-3 hours playing after I get home from work. On weekends, I'll spend about 4-5 hours total, not straight. I've come to realize that I can't do 6-10 hour marathons anymore like I use to when I was a teenager. However, I did beat the Last Of Us within three sittings though. Time really flew by with that one.

Usually I average to about 8-10 hours per week. But yesterday, with GTA V, I think I was on the PS3 playing that game for about 8-10 hours.

Damn, that is a lot of Madden! But i think me and my best friend managed to play Super Smash Bros. Melee for about the same time, drinking, eating, playing and having the biggest blast we ever had in our lives.

For the PS3, i think i got around 30 hours on a row playing Dark souls, during the release time. I managed to create 4 characters, where two of them got to new game plus and one to New Game ++.

I'll spend like an hour a day max playing PS3. Used to be more, but unfortunately I've gotten busy. Most of that time was spent playing TDU2 or Gran Turismo.

I agree about not being able to handle the marathon sessions like I could in my teenage years. I just don't have it in me anymore especially because I gave up caffeine. If I had some sativa strains then maybe I could do another 10 hour bender. But nowadays it is about a 7 hour maximum. Part of that is working full-time and having actual adult responsibilities which are a real bummer.

Usually, when I spend a lot of time on my PS3, it's because I'm watching a lot of movies or television. Sometimes I'll do a 24-hour movie marathon and I usually use my PS3 for those purposes. I'm a much bigger film fan than a gamer, so I use the PS3 more as a blu-ray player than a console. As a blu-ray player, the PS3 is great and lasts a lot longer than it does as a game console. I imagine that it's a lot easier to just play a blu-ray than it is to play a game.

Damn. 24 straight hours of watching movies? That can't be healthy. I think I've gone 12 - 16 hours at most in a movie marathon. How did you feel afterwards?

My husband and his friend played Battlefield for 7 hours and when he told his friend he'd be right back to make something quick to eat, his friend actually fell asleep in front of it waiting for him. Apparently he's been doing marathon of some games by himself for 24 hours before he started playing with him.

I've probably spent around 5 hours at most in one day. And that was all in one gaming session (Demon's Souls).

Honestly, I felt like watching more movies but I was unable to do so. I often suffer from insomnia, so it's not exactly new to me. Just the other week I was up for over 36 hours before I finally got some sleep. When this happens, I usually give up the attempt at sleep and grab a Monster Energy Absolutely Zero (which I always keep in supply for such an occasion). This is my go-to for energy, as it has zero calories and its only real negative effects on my health are in terms of the amount of caffeine and other agents I'm consuming. As such, when I'm doing a 24 hour movie marathon, I usually rely on my Monster Energy to keep me awake.

What can I say? I'm a film buff. I love watching movies. I own roughly 500 titles and watch at least 5 or 6 movies a week. I used to get paid to review them and I secretly wish I could get paid to critique them for a living. I studied film in college. I....like movies....a lot. LOL!

But yes, there are ways to keep healthy while attempting such a feat, namely avoiding the intake of sugary stuff and keeping caloric content low while keeping your energy up -- which is why a 0 calorie energy drink is perfect. :)

MORE movies??? Wow. I usually get 8-10 hours of sleep a night. I don't drink caffeine though. I really enjoy movies too. I'm surprised that so many are available for free online within 6 months of the release date. I just watched oblivion on my PC for free last night.

Ooh, I really want to see that movie. Yeah, I'm always blown away by how quickly movies make their way to streaming services, DVD and Blu-ray nowadays. I'm glad, but I also kind of mourn the death of the cinema. Actually, there are a lot of movies that are just skipping the cinema and going straight to DVD/streaming services now.

Yeah, I was shocked that I wanted to watch more movies after all of that myself, but you just get in such a mode where the movies you're watching remind you of other movies and you want to watch those as well. My favorite legal source for free movies online is Archive.org. They've got stuff like Night of the Living Dead in HD!

I only drink caffeine when I need to, which keeps it effective in my system. I don't do these marathons frequently, but once or twice a year is kind of fun. :)

When I was still a student, the longest hour that I spend playing on my PS1 would probably be 18 hours XD

I was playing Legend of Legaia and I could still remember getting frustrated killing those worms. Haha. The remaining 6 hours of the day would be my sleep time. XD

EDIT: ooops. I didn't notice the title. This is only for PS3. XD Silly me. Sorry.

The longest period I've played straight is 13 hours - because that's the longest I can go without a bathroom break. The longest I've played overall is 21 hours - marathon gaming is a thing. Of course, in that situation I tend to stock up on water bottles and snacks and I have to go before I play... So yeah - it's been a while since I've done such a thing - and by while I mean like yesterday. Darn you Rockstar.

Oblivion isn't that impressive. I enjoyed the first half more than the second half. I use ffilms' site and there are a ton of others that provide free movies in full length. You just have to settle for watching them on your computer's screen as opposed to the big screen / tv. You could hook up your PC to the tv in your house with one of those vga cords. There are actually other names for the cords, vga is just one.

I don't play for exceptionally long periods of time that often. I guess the average is around 2-3 hours for me. I'm sure I've played for more than 6-7 hours straight at a few points though. I know when I was a wee lad, I'd regularly play on my PS1 for 5-8 hours straight, and my eyes would feel like they were shriveling into my skull.
