What is the real difference between the two? You're in an post-apocalyptic running through sewers and there are monsters. You've got to scavenge and you've got to fight. It seems in some ways that you're just playing the same game with a different skin. But that's only on the very surface - beyond that I feel in some ways that Fallout is a more compelling story but Metro: LL is more compelling in terms of gameplay.
In terms of the mechanics of gameplay Fallout levels out fairly quickly since even with your enemies getting a boost as you do your superior armaments, enormous stash of stimpacks and such allow you to survive if not dominate (that's ignoring perks and game breakers).
Metro: LL on the other hand always makes you feel like you're able to take a situation however you'd like. You can be stealth as I generally always am, you can go in guns blazing, you can mix and match - it doesn't matter. The usage of light and shadow combined with the survival requirements make for an immediacy you aren't always likely to get from Fallout 3.
Anyway, what are your opinions on these games in comparison to each other?
