Couldn't post this on "G" for Gundam, so I'm posting it here.

Mobile Suit Gundam Gets PlayStation 4 Game

Namco Bandai Games had announced that a PlayStation 4 game inspired by the Mobile Suit Gundam mecha anime is currently in development. A promo was seen at the SCEJA press conference, showcasing the Gundam games through the years, leading to this announcement.

As mentioned above, there are no details about this yet, but I'm incredibly excited to see how good the Gundam suits would look like in next generation graphics. Honestly, I've never really played much of the older Gundam games, but I may have just missed the more notable ones. Nonetheless, I'm hyped for this one, as I think it is one of the titles that could benefit from having a wider range of possibilities and controls. Your thoughts?

I think the Gundams will look awesome. The game itself is what I am not sure of. For whatever reason, developers have a hard time making a good Gundam game. The od fighting games on the PS1 and PS2 are probably the Gundam games.

Oh boy. I am so psyched for this. Gundam is a legendary anime which pretty much redefined a lot of rules for how mecha-anime works. Never played a Gundam game before but I will definitely be getting this much. Can't wait to see how it looks.

Hopefully they do the series justice with a game that's of similar quality as Transformers: War for Cybertron. I've never played any of the previous Gundam games, but apparently they weren't that good.

Whoa. Mobile Suit Gundam? Seriously? You know what guys? I know that this game is gonna suck. I know that it would get a low score from critics. But, I don't care. I want to try this out. I can't wait to see what the next gen console could do to a game like this. I'm not expecting anything close to Titanfall but I know I'm gonna enjoy this game. :D

I think fans would be happy with a game that plays similarly to War for Cybertron. While that game had it's flaws, it was a good game overall.

Agreed, and..

Agreed. I rarely would support a game just because I like where it was adapted from, but Gundam is kind of an exception, and I don't really even watch that show very much. It's just too iconic at this point, and more importantly, iconic to me, and I actually like it to some degree that some of their games turn out to be campy. Although of course it would be way better if the game was just actually good.

Giant fighting robots? Yes please! I hope they make it a fleshed out RPG or action game rather than a fighting game. This has certainly grabbed my interests.

I never really watched the show but the premise did intrigue me. I'd definitely play this game if it turned out as good as people say it is. Then again, I'm kind of lazy and don't feel like listening to all the back story and all that. That's what keeps me away from games based on shows like Naruto even though I'm sure the games are pretty good.

I don't have high hopes for it because it is a licensed game but the Japanese have a better track record then the Americans do with licensed properties. So I'm expecting an average to great game. I wonder how into Gundam history it'll go. I'm hoping to have every single Gundam series represented somehow, either in allowing us to choose one but it might just have a new storyline.

I'm digging this. The Gundam games have usually been fighting games though, right? I believe there was a -Warriors type game as well (or as Screw Attack calls it "It 'X' over, and over, and over, and over...") I'm interested in what series they go with as well. G Gundam was my favorite and the most eventful one to me (with Wing being the least interesting).

I was a fan of Gundam Wing during its first run, but when I watched it again during Toonami's Aftermath lineup it came off as uninteresting to me. Aftermath introduced me to G Gundam and yes, it is awesome.

...but overall I'm a Robotech fan.

G Gundam was amazing and one of my favorite Gundam series though Gundam Wing was my first series. The whole series has changed a lot over the years to include more a female fanbase though Gundam Wing will always have a place in my heat. I still want this game to include all the gundams that we know from the first until the more recent series( for the kids) though if it focused on the more classic Gundam series I would be estatic.

I would love for it to include all the mobile suits, but to have them all would seem like this is would end up being a fighting game. I feel that there's been enough Gundam fighters.

Oh and G Gundam is my favorite as well. Couldn't stand Wing and it was my first.

Yeah it's probably going to be one of the newer Gundams or maybe an original story. But it would be cool if the old school Gundams were unlockable, which wouldn't be unrealistic. Or they might be DLC. I can see why people didn't like Wing, but I remember that series as my first Gundam experience and have a soft spot for it. But G Gundam kicked ass.

Death Scythe was amazing, and Wing will always have a place in my heart. But the best gundam was G Gundam and I hope that something about the series will make it into the new game. Even small references or unlockables would be pretty cool but we'll have to wait and see what exactly this new Gundam game is about because so far it's the generic design.

Looks like I'm the only person who hated G-Gundam and Gundam Wing. Both were to "Emotional" for me, and I really hated the story. The only Gundam I really enjoyed was 08th MS Team. Probably the only real Gundam series where it was just another part of Military Tech. The Gundams were as common as an M1Abrams tank in today's military. There was no focus on "Special abilities", or "Destined Children" or things like that. It was solely based around Military use and that's what I loved about it. You had the Gundams specifically for Sniper Teams, Gundams for Ambushes, Amphibious assaults, the whole thing. Personally I'd love for this title in particular to be revolved around that, but alas, who knows.

What I would be excited to see, is if this was the reboot of the Gundam game the Playstation 3 was supposed to get years ago that included full blown warfare with several other players, kind of like Star Wars Battlefront, or what Titan Fall is doing now. Players would have had the choice to either operate the Gundams or go about ground assaults. Perhaps they opted for the Long Range artillery truck instead. Either way, as long as it isn't another generic Arena fighter, I'll be happy to see how it turns out.

First G Gundam was made of awesome, and Gundam Wing was always more for girls so maybe that's why I liked it though I couldn't stand Relena Peacecraft. But as for the game, I think it should be it's own thing. It might be better for it if it didn't focus on one particular series. It's been mentioned before but I still want to see DLC of old Gundam models.

I am a huge Gundam fan and I gotta say that this looks awesome.
I hope it's kinda like SRW where you can choose your robot, your robot, and then go out to fight.
