My PS4 shuts off automatically

I have only digital games
I used to play games and never had a problem till last week.
My PS4 began to shut off by itself when playing games after about 5 minutes.
Even i can use it for everything else as I can use YouTube play movies play dvd play music everything but games.
I don't have blueray games to tryout what gonna happen.
Please help and i can do any fixes like change hdd change thermal compound

Is your PS4 in a well ventilated area with plenty of open space around it?
If not it's possible it may be shutting don from over heating.
But you say it's only with games,playing dvd's it still works so that's odd.

I believe there was problem some people havig where it would turn off but a software update may have fixed this.
Does your PS4 have the latest software installed?

Not sure what else to suggest,maybe a full wipe and initialisation as a last resort.
If that doesnt work does your PS4 have warranty left? Perhaps get it checked out and/or replaced?

Anyone else can offer a suggestion?

Also it is upto date 2.57
I can do any thing watch YouTube, play DVD
I tried to notice what is really happening i found that when i start a game the fan begin to be louder and louder till ps4 freeze then shut off
Also the air coming from the fan is cold
I think there is a problem with thermal paste
Unfortunately my ps4 is out of warranty
What should i do?

Hmm. That's a tough one. Perhaps some kind of hardware issue is restarting it. Seems to shut off when under load. Apps like YouTube and movies I don't think will load the hardware as much as a graphically intense game would. But sounds like something isn't communicating right. Is your console still under warranty?

Edit: sorry. On Tapatalk and the other posts didn't show up at first. Sucks its not under warranty. If you want to test the bluray games, run to GameStop and get a cheap disc game. If it restarts, its something with the games, probably hardware related.
