Netflix / Hulu on PS3

Does anyone have anything to say about how good the Netflix and/or Hulu apps for the PS3 are? I remember finding that the one on my XBox 360 for Netflix was a lot better than the one on my TiVo, which surprised me. I don't have a PS3 myself, but I do have a PS4 coming in a couple of days and I'm wondering if they did these kinds of apps well in the previous generation, since if they did I hope I can expect the next generation console to have good apps for these things too.

If they're good, I can hopefully just narrow down my home entertainment system to pretty much the PS4 and put the rest of the stuff away, to reduce clutter.

Honestly I only used it once. I think I was attracted to using it on my playstation just for the novelty of streaming a movie through a console. There was no difference in the quality of the movie or how long it took to stream, I think these factors come down to your internet and the quality of your TV screen. The Dualshock 3 was Okay to use to navigate Netflix's interface, though there was nothing special about it, and it was a little more irritating to use than a normal remote or my computer. But overall it was still a good experience.
