New PS4 and cannot get past load screens on games

Hi All,

Got a new PS4 for Christmas. Got it all set up and running and put in Destiny (it was the bundle package). It downloaded an update for Destiny and when I started the game it says to "press x" which I do and nothing happens. Tried to restart, sign on as a different user, etc but no luck.

Thought it might be an issue with the Destiny server as the PS server seem to be back up so I bought another game (Dragon Age Inquisition). Again same deal. Get to the first load screen where it tells me to press the "options" button and nothing happens.

Did I miss something while setting up the PS4 or something else? Any help is appreciated.

Are you getting an error code?

Nope. No error codes that I see, just shows the load screen and no response when I press the button.

I had issues with dragons age but I got a error code. the game would not start. What I had to do was delete the game and when I restarted down loading I stopped the patch and all the DLC until the game was fully downloaded. Might want to try it as a last resort

Tried the above and still no luck. It is the same issue. I spoke with PS Support and they had me "rebuild database" out of safe mode. That didn't work and then they had me "Initialize the PS4" out of safe mode and while I was doing that they told me if the problem persists to contact them back and disconnected from me. I finished the "initialization" process and still have the same issue. Does anyone have any other ideas, or if there is some simple set-up procedure I forgot to do? Thanks for the help.

Have you tried playing offline? If not, unplug your modem and try without internet. If it's working that mean you got a connectivity issue

I logged off of my PSN account and disabled the internet connection (was connected wirelessly). Still cannot get into the game and still the same scenario. I get to the load screen on dragons where it says to press the "options" button and I do and get no response...???

I have no other idea what it could be. I will try to contact Sony help again to see if they can be of any other assistance. If you guys have any other ideas I'm willing to give them a shot. Thanks
