No requirements for recording and streaming

There was news a few days ago that you will need Xbox Live to record gameplay on the Xbox One. I guess this is considered another "burn" related to E3 where they made a video about sharing policies. Unfortunately, the video is outdated, I believe they should make a new one just for this, just for humor. Anyways, the PS4 will not require you to have PS+ to record or stream videos.

After we learned that Xbox Live Gold will be necessary to record and stream video of games on the upcoming Xbox One, many wondered if Sony Computer Entertainment would pull the same stunt with the similar feature on the PS4.

Brilliant move by Sony. They continue to impress with their handling of next gen. You know at first I was upset that MP was behind a paywall but they are doing so much right that it is difficult to be mad at them.

They just don't stop. Playstation making all the right moves while Xbox One restricts people and don't have a half decent reason behind them. It's like Xbox One is trying to trick everyone into thinking there's no way around certain things and then Playstation says, "um no, nice try Microsoft". Very interesting.

Yep. Sony just continues to impress me. This is just the icing on the cake.

I definitely agree with luckypupil, like him I think Sony has been making all the right moves ever since they announced the system back in February. So far, everything has gone smoothly, form the features of the PS4, to the games coming out for it. Also, It definitely looks like Sony are doing their best to upstage Microsoft every chance they get, now with the DVR and before it was the friends list amount.

Microsoft could always take back what they said just like what they did in the past. Lol. But Sony is really laying the smackdown and likes to go in early for the kill. I hope that they could keep it up until launch date and the days and years afterwards.

Well Xbox One is slowly gaining back their fans since they're making more noticeable changes and differences as well. Headset, overclock, matchmaking, etc. but Sony has been solid and consistent throughout the advertising campaign. They surely deserve more praise, but people shouldn't give up on the Xbox One yet.

It just looks like Microsoft are digging themselves their own grave. Sony is simply giving the better product here. On one hand the Xbox One can record up to 15 minutes of gameplay which you have to pay to be able to do, or you can do unlimited time without having to pay anything extra. It's pretty clear which one you would want to take. I think that the Xbox One will really lose out on the sales here by scaring away casual users.
