No Surround Sound PS4

I just got a PS4 for christmas.
I have set it up in exactly the same way as I had my PS3, but I cannot get surround sound out of it whereas I could on the PS3. I am only getting 2.0 PCM.

My set up is as follows:
PS4 --hdmi--> SAMSUNG TV (55" Curved Smart TV) --optical--> Bose Lifestyle 18 Series III

I also have my Sky+ box going into the TV via hdmi and get Dolby 5.1 out no problem.
However, when I switch to the PS4 HDMI Channel, the Samsung cannot pick up Dolby nor DTS and only gives me the options to output in PCM or DTS Neo 2:5.
I have played around with every setting on the PS4 and no option brings up Dolby or DTS on the TV sound settings. The dolby and dts options just remain greyed out.
I have tried a DVD which I know is in 5.1, a BluRay and also FIFA 15.
Nothing works.

I have tried calling both Playstation and Samsung but both are uninterested as they say its not their problem.
Please help. Thank you ever so much.

Ah. Customer support at it's best. You're better off talking to a wet dish towel.

I'll do my best to help you but I do admit I am on the weaker side of audio. Plus changing this stuff was always easier on the PS3 for some reason :) Try this:
Settings--->Sound and Screen--->Audio Output Settings--->Audio Format (Priority). After that you should have options for Linear PCM, Bitstream (Dolby), Bitstream (DTS). That is where my knowledge drops off :)

Haha... they are useless.

Anyway, thanks but that's what I've been playing with.
I'm not sure exactly what I should have it set to. I'd imagine HDMI out and then Bitstream (Dolby).
But it doesn't work.

Sorry man. I tried. I guess I'm just as useless at tech support :p I dunno what the problem could be. I have a crappy Insignia TV so I can't help you with the settings on the TV unfortunately but it sounds like one is not communicating to the other.
