'Other' Data in Applications System Storage Management

Hi guys,

I recently purchased my ps4 and love it. I have been browsing through the Applications section of the System Storage Management menu and see a section titled 'Other' with a size of 8gb.

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what this data is as I am unable to select it as I can the other application data. I looked online and in the forum and couldnt find anything.

I just saw this on mine too, not as big but it's there (and i installed a new HDD too). anyone know this, i'm now curious

My guess would be probably the data of the operating system and other system files used to keep the PS4 working. Or could be memory used to store some of the saved settings on the console like time and date, sign-in information, and the share and broadcast things, etc.

I can't access my others file also but what I have noticed that when I purchased the havoc DLC for CoD AW, It happens to be the same size as my "others" file, so my guess is that is where the DLC files go.
Can't get HAVOC DLC to work though, all the regions are correct but still not pairing. Waiting for reply from sony.

I don't think it is because DLC is added onto your save file for AW.

If you google it IGN has confirmed I think that it is the PS4 updates and operating system.

I'm gonna throw my vote in for operating system and other system files. That stuff is a lot bigger than you would think, especially with out advanced operating systems have gotten. I wouldn't worry about it.
