People who used to have a PSP: why did you get rid of it?

I had a PSP for a while, but it just didn't capture my attention like I thought it would. The first PSP I had stopped working almost immediately, so I exchanged it for a new one. That one was fine; it was the Star Wars bundle with the Battlefront game. The game itself was pretty good--nothing mind-blowing, but it was plenty entertaining. I also bought Crisis Core, but I honestly don't remember if I bought any other games. I ended up selling my PSP bundle with a memory card that I had bought separately for around $200, but all in all I wish I hadn't bought it to begin with. It wasn't a bad console, to be clear; it just wasn't right for me.

I had also hoped to use it as an MP3 player, but I didn't like the interface and I was never able to get that many songs on it to begin with. It was also very bulky compared to most MP3 players, so it ended up weighing me down a bit.

I lost mine, and I've been wanting to buy a new one ever since. Unfortunately, there's just too many better things to buy nowadays that I'm not sure it would be the smartest purchase for me, so I don't. If I had a bunch of spare money, I would in a heartbeat, though, since it's got a lot of great games that you could bring around. I like it because it's portable and not touchpad controlled, and it has a huge library of games for it, not to mention the possibility to install a PS1 emulation program, if I'm not mistaken.

Still got mine and use it nearly every day at work so its pretty battered,The disk drive makes a horrid whirring noise so I have had to move all my games on the memory card as I have CFW installed ,its covered in scratches but I would never get rid of it and if it did die I think I would be lost and would go straight out and buy another one.
The Vita has still not convinced me enough to buy one yet.
DrRipley you are right you can put ps1 games on it.

The reason why I stopped using it was due to the fact that it was murdered by a flood that hit our city 2 years ago. I have tried everything in my power to get it fixed, but to no avail, it was messed up. Some of the technicians have mentioned that I need to get the battery replaced, but that prospect is not available in my city. I freaking miss that device. I spent so much money for the memory cards to save my downloaded games because I was too poor to buy UMD games.

sigh. Those were the happy times.

No, seriously, that damn console keeps back to me, no matter how many times i sell it. Personally, i think i already had 5 different versions, but i always sold them to friends because they saw me with them and wanted one.
And i am not even talking about the amount of people that asked me to put custom firmwares on their PSP during highschool. I basically created an entire market out of it, and i think for the last 2 years of highschool, around 50 different consoles passed through my hands. One of my best sources of income during that time and i miss it!

I do like the ability to play PSN games on it, especially games from the PS1 like the earlier Final Fantasy games. I didn't get a PS3 until a few months ago, so I never looked into the PlayStation network until recently, whereas I haven't had a PSP in probably 3-4 years. I haven't even considered the possibility of getting a PS Vita, but then I'm not really into mobile gaming the same way that I used to be. Well that, and I'm not made of money.

I had a PSP a while ago (I can't remember what type it was but it would of been an earlier model. It was a yellow PSP that came bundled with The Simpsons Game) and adored it. Played Medal of Honor: Heroes online quite a bit, even if the game was filled by hackers as well as a few other games. The main reason I got rid of mine was because I needed just a little extra cash to purchase a PS3 and the PSP started gathering dust so I thought why not.

I would love to grab one again one day. I know they are dirt cheap now-a-days. I'd love a PS Vita also.

I still owned a PSP, but I haven't been playing it since I'm quite busy with my work. In any case, my PSP's battery life is already short, therefore I cannot play a PSP game for no more than 30 minutes to an hour. My PSP requires to be plugged in to an external power source every time I play. Even worse, the control interface on my PSP is erratic, since I'm being directed to the quit screen even as I never pressed the button. To add to my dilemma, one of my PSP memory cards is damaged such that some of my saved games are gone.
