Please don't buy PS4's on Ebay

Wel, I was thinking of getting one then when I saw what they were going for I decided to wait. I bought my PS4 on 4th January 2014 from GAME with Ghost's, 12 months Playstation+ and cover for my console (personal choice) for a grand total of £489.97. I am really pleased I waited as I got what I wanted not a pre=packed bundle with stuff I did not.

When I saw some of them put up at $900 and $1000+ I shook my head. It's like...plays games, music, and movies/shows--it doesn't have a fryer, waffle maker, waterproof, fireproof, bulletproof, or any of that extra stuff that would warrant the outrageous price.

With my luck I'd shell out $1000 for a bricked console lol

Prices should be more reasonable now because of the holidays being over, although I'm not a fan of the limited release that Sony is insisting on doing. For some reason they are committed to sending out small amounts of PS4's to stores. I guess their milking the hype for all it's worth.

There are still people trying to make $50-$100 off of them here on craigslist too. I walked into a walmart yesterday, and they had 7 in stock. Needless to say, I bought one. lol

Those Craigslist prices seem slightly less wallet punishing than what else was bouncing around online in the wake of the launch.

Ah. Nothing has changed. Same thing happened with PS2 and PS3. High demand and low supply that takes months to rectify. Maybe they didn't make enough for the high demand. Maybe they did that on purpose.

Yeah I mean the PS4 looks pretty cool, though not many of the games out right now are great, I find it kind of strange that people would be willing to pay so much or even risk wasting money for a gaming console. Glad I am not one of the crazy ones and can wait a bit till I get one.

To say they were in that first wave of PS4/Xbox One gamers. Very exclusive club. You get one these jackets only with the PS4 or X1 badge and "PlayStation" or "Xbox" down the sleeves.

...and some patches and stuff to put on it if you want. So you can sit up in your wrinkled jacket made with Jiffy Pop foil and play your first wave console. Bitchin'!

Paying $1000 might make sense if you had a lot of extra cash and then could get the console that second.

But if you can just run to Walmart and get it for the real price, make sure it's a real one and take it home in like 30 min...

I feel bad for the people spending extra cash to get one. I actually went back to the Walmart where I got mine, and they still had 2 left in stock. Kind of surprising TBH.

This is the best part. As if Walmart have a racket of selling PS3s in PS4 boxes or cases.

I remember reading this on the Xbox One forum. His story didn't sound right when the updates came out.

...also the guy who sent it didn't even bother to give him a glossy. Plus it's like the ink was running was running low.

I saw that about the guy and the picture of a Xbox One. I felt bad initially...then quickly it was like "...you didn't read the description? It said that it would be a picture and you bought it anyway. Why you mad tho?"

Yeah the story seemed a bit odd.

> 19 year old buys £450 gaming console for his 4 year-old son,
> Notice the item says 'PICTURE OF XBOX ONE'
> Buys it anyway.

It all ended well for the jammy sod though, he got a free console from a nearby store AND his £450 back.

When I saw that part about buying a PS4 for a 4-year old I tossed the story out. That's just to make his story seem more sad that it was before you saw the details. Hell, a PS3 is complex for a 4-year old you know a PS4 is way beyond that.

"My poor 4-year old said 'Papa, how am I supposed to play this? It's paper.' And I said 'I don't know son. I just don't know. It's paper,' it was looking to be a sad Christmas."

I honestly believe that the seller and this guy were in cahoots for this, one guy got a Xbox One and his money back and the seller got to keep the money for participating.

Sony, why didn't you make this. Not a jacket or something with PS4 plastered on it, but a classic Atari jacket with PS4 stuff on it. I'd buy that.
