Please don't buy PS4's on Ebay

I would rather wait and buy it at 400 bucks rather than 1000+, it's outrageous. I love Playstation and I am DYING to get a PS4, but holy hell I am not risking my wallet OR life trying to get one. Hopefully tax time, wal mart or game stop will have them.

Walmart and other stores will most likely have them during tax time. They want your money Panda lol

I was glancing over the title of this thread, and laughed to myself of how I would have no chance of getting a PS4 on Ebay. I recently went through the ends of the earth with trying to snipe certain bids on a certain product needed for personal work in relation to facial animation. And I highly doubt I could have any chance of how people are probably pulling all-nighters, having HUGE watch lists, and have eBay on their phones to keep up to date to any PS4 bid they can get.

And not just that, to get that feeling of false hope when someone snipes the bid for much more, it makes you wonder if there’s going to be a lot of thrill bidders on this, or people who bid for the sake of bidding. And I could imagine how sellers in particular would have to deal with disputes from buyers over the quality and such over the console.

I can’t even fathom the level of frustration people must be going through if they aim to buy a PS4 online, and the product I was in a battlefield of winning ranged from $28-50+!!! And let's not forget how shill bidders are going to be prevalent over there as well!

I think it's better to wait and give Sony my money, rather than letting someone get all the profit for simply buying PS4's they don't need and plan to profit from...

I believe that Best Buy is getting a shipment of PS4's soon. At least that's what I read yesterday so there's that. But yeah, Sony is terrible about this. Their shipping out low quantities of PS4s to keep up demand, which I get as a business but it's getting frustrating because as soon as a store or Amazon gets them their sold out pretty quickly. You can still find them in smaller shops but that really only works part of the time in the suburbs before someone blabs and the supply is gone.

Yeah, and for those smaller brick-and-mortar stores, it is not a pleasant thing to wake up early to get in line for a PS4 or any console purchase from Best Buy. It’s almost like the armored vehicle drivers sit around in a location near us hidden from view, and then when they actually show up to distribute the stock, a huge sigh of relief is made. And as for eBay, as long as someone out there has the thrill for bidding and has deep pockets, people will pull out all the stops to make a profit from this.

As much as that sounds corrupt in manipulating with impulsive buyers, some people have no conscience when it comes to money.

I always wonder why people despise the eBay sellers who sell systems for hundreds more than the MSRP. If there wasn't a market for something like this, those sellers wouldn't exist. Basic supply and demand in effect.

People will be selling these for uber prices for years to come unfortunately. It seems PS4's are STILL hard to get and that's 'good news' for people with ps4's that they want to sale. I even saw used PS4's for $450! Seriously 450 bucks for a used one haa.

I think it's because there can easily be scam artists among eBay sellers and occasionally among those who sell the consoles for hundreds more.

It's amazing because if I wanted an Xbox One right now then I could go to almost any store and get one. It's like Microsoft shipped out to many and Sony shipped out to few. Everytime we hear news about a store getting PS4s the next thing you know their all sold out. Ebay, regardless at the potential ripoff potential, has become the most stable source for the PS4.

It's because of this that I may consider getting one to sell... if they are still selling like that, even a $100 profit is worth it!

Last time this happened was with the Wii launch. It was selling like crack. Bids actually went up to 10K. I mean, its something that retails for 300$!
