PS4 Allows Background Music While Playing Games

I have a specific playlist for when I play PC so I wonder how advanced this feature is. I'm hoping for the ability to create playlists, transfer them from one game to another. I also wonder if this is going to cost us anything. I mean I doubt that the PS4 will let you use n Ipod. More than likely they'll make you pay for the privilege.

this could be a very cool feature.

looking forward to having a tinker with some playlists to assign to certain games

It's actually a pretty great feature. And works pretty seamlessly with the PS4. What I have noticed is that unlike the Xbox One, you can go into apps with music still playing on the PS4. I really enjoy it, and even if I don't use it for a lot of games like Watch Dogs for example other games like Need for Speed would benefit from my own soundtrack.

Well that's great I can have a little background music while playing some games. Can't say I'm too excited about commercials in the middle of the intense parts, but you know.

Those commercials in middle of intense of the game would be annoying with a streaming service. If it's like baracksyndel says and you pay for the service and get no commercials that would be different.

While this is incredible, I cannot help but think that this is a glaringly obvious last-ditch attempt from Sony to compete with the Xbox One, and perhaps sooner or later, it will be able to stream videos and such simultaneously the same way it does, too. I may be looking too far ahead to something that may or may not happen, but surely Sony can put a little more originality into it. People have actually been asking for a feature like this for quite some time now, it is just a little odd that they choose now to implement it.

I don't understand the statement. If anything the background music is better implemented on the PS4 than on the Xbox One and you can stream videos through the Twitch service on the PS4 right now. Sony and Microsoft both are taking advantage of the let's play popularity.

Really nice feature, something I enjoyed very much back on Xbox. It would be better however if you could upload your own music. I'm sure their service will likely have forced ads..

It really is a fun feature and one that Sony did great with. Although, and someone metioned this earlier in the thread. I do wish that you didn't have to be subscribed into Sony's music service to use the feature. I wish that there was a way for you to add in your own music, like connecting your Ipod to it, well more that I wish you didn't have to pay for yet another service in order to use something cool on the PS4.
