PS4 and Playstation Now

So, is anyone looking forward to this service. It was briefly talked about at the end of 2013, but within a few months we should see more about it, I would think. Essentially you can stream games (specifically PS 3 games) from the cloud and play them.

I'm into this, but I'm not into rebuying titles. If they offered some sort of trade in services where I could give the physical media and get the cloud option, that would be good for me. I would put out a little bit of money to get some of my favorites though, and I'm pretty sure that's what the Vita does, they make quite a bit off people rebuying older titles that they really enjoyed.

I'm really looking forward to it. I've signed up for the beta, but got a ps3 key instead of PS4 one. Hope Sony will fix this soon and I'll get to try out the service on my own.

I am in the Now beta on my PS3. I think it goes without saying that at this point, the service is terrible. My friend who is in the PS4 beta says it is not any different than the PS3 in regards to quality. Further, those games you have played using Now show up on your PS4 dashboard, aligned across that bar. Best of all? He said he was unable to actually launch a game from the bar itself and had to load up Now in order to do so. He ended up uninstalling Now and the games because he was unable to organize the bar and it became too needlessly cluttered.

This has the potential to be amazing, but it's going to take more work.

I have a code for the beta but it won't run because I'm in Canada.. Sucks living way up here.

My biggest problem with it is that the video quality of the games is particularly low resolution. Not sure if this is because of my Internet, but I have no problems watching videos in 1080p via any other "streaming" service.

What games are you playing. I don't remember seeing anything about old PS games being remastered in HD.

It's because streaming games using much more data than just video. It has to transmit player input and probably do a lot more I don't completely understand..

That is true and be that as it may, it is still a problem. Nevertheless it is a problem I see Sony overcoming.

For me this depends on the cost and how reliable the service is. For the cost I am only interested if it is included in Playstation Plus, I have no interest in Playing games from the past generations if I have to purchase them again, but will play through for nostalgia if they are free.

I tried playing guacamelee on PS3

When I could cruly connect, it was unplayable

Luckily I bought it after the fact, otherwise I'd have missed out on an awesome game

But we don't have the Internet for playstation now to be big

I got a beta key yesterday and installed the app. I was playing sniper 2 on my ps4 with no problems at all. Not sure if it was 1080p but it didn't look any diffrent then playing on my ps3. The games do go on your dash bored and depending how long you rent them for they will dissapier after that time. One day seven days and 30 days are your three options for renting the game. No prices at this point. But in time this ps now will be awesome.
