Ps4 corrupt data!!

I've been having some issues lately (seemed to have arose around the 3.55 update) friends list, notifications, profile, trophies etc wont load or are really slow & laggy. I've tried to rebuild the data base & it said "data corrupt, the ps4 will restart", I'm kinda guessing if something is corrupt that may be the cause of my issue. But how do i find what exactly is corrupt, did something not go right during the update & maybe i caught a corrupt software update, or has an actual game file or something become corrupt. Has anyone else come across this similar issue. I'm at a loss, i have also previously initialised the console & re downloaded all of my games etc.

Just did another rebuild database, didn't come up with corrupt data this time. Went to start a chat party & it failed like most times lately, (NW-31453-6). Went to my friemds list, again it wont load or takes multiple attempts to, notifications etc still not showing or taking forever to appear.

Seems the more people i speak to about this the more i find have a similar problem. Cause is most likely 3.55 software is buggy.
I have emailed Sony but they as usual don't listen & refuse to admit their software has any problems.

I'm not sure it's a software related problem.

The number NW-31453-6 is a generic error of PSN server not responding, or responding too late. It generally comes up when the PSN is under maintenance or when your internet connection is too slow.

Check the PSN status here: https://status.playstation.com/

If everything seems to be up, try to check your router, restart it, check if you have enough bandwidth, check how many devices are using it, etc.

Net is fine, reset everything done tests, the works! PS4 is the only thing having the issue, connection runs fine as in ping & download speed open nat. Games all run without lagging, other than the usual expected shit ya get. Just seems to be the home menu, problem has been ongoing for a couple weeks. As i said, it has me lost.

A few questions:

-the internal HDD is the original one?
-how much space do you have left on you HDD?
-do you have 200+ friends on your list?
-since when you haven't cleaned up your browser cache/cronology?
-did you change some HDMI settings on your TV recently?
-if you are in offline mode, do you have the same problem?
-do you have USB keys connected?

Sorry, I am sure you already checked them all up, but I am trying to understand what is happening to your console.

You can also try to turn your PS4 completely off and unplug it from the power supply. Wait like 30 seconds, plug it back in, turn it on and see what happens. You never know... -]

Definitely sounds like a data or HD problem. You may want to wipe it, and start fresh.

All components in the console are original, i have 200GB of free space because when i reinitialised the console i left alot of things off it, only have 60 friends on my list, browser never gets used on the console, all TV settings never get changed, only things connected to usb ports is charger cable for controller & headset.
The last database rebuild i did didn't show up corrupt this time which also raises another question as to what was corrupt & where did it go, also reinstalled the software again with no change.

I did wipe & set it back to factory when the problem started, also only re downloaded about half of what was on the drive before. Trying to avoid doing that again if it's possible. Leaving doing that again as a last resort.

Sometimes the home screen can lag that much that it wont let me click onto any of the top icons & seems like the console is trying to momentarily freeze up.

You can try the last two things I can suggest you:

a)
OFFLINE MODE
Use your console without ETH cable nor WiFi connected, like you had no network at home

b)
- Turn PS4 off completely
- Disconnect PS4 AC power cord from electrical outlet
Only disconnect the plug of the AC power cord from the electrical outlet when the power indicator is turned off. If you disconnect it while the power indicator is lit or blinking, data might be lost or corrupted, and the system might be damaged.
- After removing the plug for AC power cord from the electrical outlet, detach ALL other cables from the PS4
- Wait one minute or so, plug all cables back, Turn PS4 on

If you won't get any improvement, really, I have no more clues about it, except telling you to send your console for repair.

This definitely sounding more and more like some type of hardware failure. You could try replacing the hard drive completely, or as Alex said, send it in for repair.

Thanks for all the help guys, other then sending it away (which i have no patience for lol). Might just trade it in towards a newer one. Then EB can refurbish it & do what they want with it, unless i can pick up another drive already formatted to work in it that wont cost an arm & a leg as i can't format it myself because i got rid of our pc.
