PS4 digital downloads...hesitation..

Alright guys I'm new here and I'm sorry if it's a repost...

I got my PS4 just today, haven't bought it I won it on some Coca Cola game. Anyhow, being a gamer, I always used to buy titles on discs and etc. On the internet I found a dealer who sells all the PS4 games, as digital downloads. But he told me once the game is installed, if i delete it, or lets say my disk crashes, it cannot be re installed? What's that all about? From another dealer i bought fifa 2014 and it can be...but this second one told me it can't be re installed, it's just a 1 time download.

Is this possible? Truth to the fact he sells all digital releases, for 25$ (ps4, yes 25$) even for Watchdogs. People who bought from him, i actually contacted them and it's not a scam or anything...his profile is 100% verified...

Any info is appreciated.

This sounds like a scam to me. Anything I have ever bought from PSN can be deleted and down loaded as many times as I want. If it sounds to good to be true it probably is.

Also, a tip for those that do buy digital. You should buy the physical disc version of brand new games now that PS+ is required. The reason is these games will eventually be the free game of the month for PS+ users. Since you have the disc version, you can download the free digital version when it becomes the free game of the month, and trade your disc in on something new. You get the keep the game, but get money for the physical copy on trade. It's a win win.

If you know a game is coming for free on PS+ (and can wait for it to be available) then why buy the physical copy at all? Cause when you trade it for another one you lose some value anyway. So it's costing you more that way.
And download it later as digital you say? Well many people dont want to play it again or keep it (depending on the game ofcourse).
As I said,you will save more if you don't buy it at all in the first place and wait for it to be free on PS+. But the only flaw with that is who know's how long before its free,and IF its even released for free on PS+ at all.

I think maybe you mean 'as long as you have the physical version' of a game by chance,and it comes on PS+ at some point,then you could download the digital and trade/sell the phsical copy. That's fair enough yeah.

Obviously this would be if you are going to buy the game anyways. For example, watch dog will probably be the free game of the month at some point. It won't be for a long time, and I want to play it now. The point is, you can not trade in a digital copy that you pay for. Only get the digital copy when the games become free.

Thank you all for your replies ...actually that's what I've thought...it's a scam...but it's a shop that's been around for 4 years online, and none of the customers reported that they have been scammed, it's not ebay, but in my country it's similar to that, people rate sellers and stuff... I'm still skeptic about it why can I download just once, because on official forums and all the information I gathered so far there is no such thing as one download buy...it's not even a lot of money 25$ I'd gamble, but the fact that I can't delete and install when I want is what turns me off..

Ok I will give you a totally hypothetical scenario. Say you and a family member or friend were to make each others consoles your primary. He would have access to all of your digital games and you his. If you were to split the price every game you see on psn would be half price and you would be able to download and delete as many times as you want. Of course this is totally hypothetical . The fact that you can only down load it once is a BIG red flag. I would say there is defiantly something fishy and if he falls, You go down with him. Good bye PSN id. Good bye trophies and Possibly good bye online with your system. What site is this on? Can the seller have last say on his rating? Meaning is there a possibility the seller owns the site and can moderate comments?

Is this even possible to buy digital downloads from other people? To me the eco systems seems to be like Apples, you buy from their app store, no where else. I would buy from Sony, you do not have to worry about losing the games as they are connected to your psn.

Don't do it dude, don't even keep thinking about it. It's definitely a scam. If you're trying to buy buy cheap games, go for used ones.

OK so I have a question that i loosely related, I'm going to buy a second hand two month old PS4, the current owner has several games via digital download on the console. IF I buy this and log on with my PSN, would i have access to these games? or would they only be avalible for the current owner?

Also this seems like a scam, what did you end up doing?

Pretty sure thats a scam. All digital purchases get attached to your PSN account and can be downloaded as many times you want,\.

Lots of people do this sort of scam on steam and now attacking console players.
Try and not trust people like this.

Yeah that sounds really scammy if you ask me and I will tell you that I think that you should really stay away from something like that. I think maybe the dealer is getting the games illegally in the first place, I mean why would he tell you that if you buy the game and then you delete it that you would not be able to get the game back honestly to me that really does not make any sense. When you buy digital games from the PlayStation store you are able to delete and download them as much times as you want because you have already bought the game which means that the game belongs to you.

This scam has been going on since xb360. It is illegal! Everything works fine until that account sets off some red flags and gets banned. If you're lucky they will only ban the account that was being sold..if not, you might end up with a blacklisted console. Pretty much this means you better really enjoy only playing single player offline, or have the cash to buy a new console. I still can't believe these auctions don't get flagged sooner.

But I did from other one, also trough ebay...and honestly I first bought one account, and then two more, they work without any problems, i can download delete and reinstall again as much as I want without any problems...so yeah, still no problems at all. Except that I hate the PS4 controller as the analogue sticks are CRAP. I can't believe this, two brand new controllers in 2-3 weeks...amazing.

Whoa, this sounds like the perfect set up for a scam. It's too good to be true and a red flag for me is the possibility of not being able to reinstall the game. Don't trust this dealer and as for his profile, you can pay people online to get your profile set up to look legit for potential buyers.

But I did from other one, also trough ebay...and honestly I first bought one account, and then two more, they work without any problems, i can download delete and reinstall again as much as I want without any problems...so yeah, still no problems at all. Except that I hate the PS4 controller as the analogue sticks are CRAP. I can't believe this, two brand new controllers in 2-3 weeks...amazing.

The problem is that it's illegal and when Sony catches it after the guy has sold the same accounts to hundreds of people, all of the PS4's associated with the 'hacked' accounts will be banned from PlayStation services.
