PS4 Games crashing and not reading with new device

Hey guys! I just came to the new gen consoles from an Xbox 360 and I have to say I am very disappointed. I heard good reviews about the PS4 so I chose it over the Xbox 1 and have had it for about a week (new console not used) and am having lots of difficulties. I own four games and during gameplay for each one of them the games crash and I get a message of something along the lines: "The game has crashed due to corrupted data." I found it bizarre a brand new console would corrupt all four of my games saved progress, and one game it wouldn't even read. I called Sony and they walked me though resting the system software, but that did not help. I took it back to Gamestop and swapped it for a new one and the same problem is still happening. Is it common for PS4 games to have their data corrupted so often? I am afraid to erase my game data and start over after putting in dozens of hours into their campaigns.

Any suggestions? Like I said, new to PlayStation and really not looking forward to selling it and going back to Xbox.

Thank you.

This is a very weird issue, considering you changed your unit as well.

Are the games digital or disc?
