PS4 HDD Specs

Hey guys, brand new to the forum here. I've been on the Sony band wagon since PS2 (even had a day one PS3) and I'm all in for the PS4. Already got my confirmation email from Amazon that my PS4 should be at my door by November 19th. I recently signed up for PS Plus as I plan to play BF4. Just for giggles I downloaded Uncharted 3, SR 3rd and Xcom since they were free and realized how cool it was to get free games EVERY MONTH from PS Plus....then I looked at my HD space...oh crap. I know the PS4 comes with a 500 GB drive but with PS Plus thats going to get eaten up real quick with free games. I'm planning on upgrading the drive to a 1 TB the day I get the PS4 but I'm not sure which specs I need for the new HD. Has this info been circulated yet? Is it just a 5400rpm, 8mb SATA drive? A SATA2 drive with 16mb cache? I'd like to order the drive NOW so it will be here when the PS4 arrives. Thanks guys and sorry if this is a repeat post.

Welcome to the forums. I posted a Playstation 4 Guide that's stickied to the top of this section so I'll copy and paste this:

The Specs:
Single-chip custom processor
CPU: low power x86-64 AMD “Jaguar”, 8 cores
GPU: 1.84 TFLOPS, AMD next-generation Radeon based graphics engine
GDDR5 8GB

Thank you for the reply. So we don't know the SPECIFICS for the HDD then? Other then the fact that it's a 2.5" 500gb HD? I replaced the HD on my PS3 and it was cake so I'm not worried about the procedure at all. I just don't want to buy a hard drive that's incompatible with the PS4. :\ I assume it will just be a 5400rpm drive. I just want to know if it has an 8mb cache and whether its a SATA drive or a SATA2 drive.

If you want my sincere option, i would have guess a normal SATA drive rather SATA2. Check the price of the console, and you might notice how low it is, so they had to cut in a lot of places so they could pull this one off, even after having financial problems because of the whole PS3 and PSVita business.
