PS4 outperforming Xbox One by 4:1 in Nehterlands

Its mad how well its done really, they stopped pre-orders on gamespot because of how well ps4 was doing its unbelievable sales have made it so successful.

Ouch, are those numbers accurate, or they are still like that even after Microsoft changed the connection requirements to run the Xbox One?
Either way, good for Sony to have such a big support from Netherlands citizens.

Playstation, from my understanding, has always sold rather well in Europe compared to Microsoft and Nintendo consoles. But I think this paints a similar picture worldwide as, I'm positive, PS4 is currently outselling XB1 in preorders. It most likely has to do with the fact the PS4 is $100 cheaper because, at this point, as we all know, XB1 has changed to mimic PS4's offerings. I wouldn't say the launch titles play a big role, if any, in why people are choosing the PS4 over the XB1, either.

Microsoft have a lot of work. I hope Sony doesn't sleep on them though, and let these little victories go their heads. I think this generation is a make it or break it one. Neither can afford to pull punches.

I guess I'm surprised it is by such a landslide, but I expect the PS4 to beat the XBox One worldwide. They really screwed up with their PR over the summer. Plus, I feel like the games people are looking forward to are available on PS4.

I just hope they won't squander this. I hope they use this momentum and really let the PS4 soar instead of shooting it down with some stupid bait and switch tactics. That'd be best for everyone (including Xbox One customers because MS has to continually try harder, which is always best for consumers).
They probably will find something to piss us off with at some point though.

I don't know why it should be surprising for anyone. I mean, aside from UK, Sony pretty much rules the rest of the Europe. These figure make look like amazing, but it was kinda expected to perform well in countries like Netherlands. They have always done well there will all of their previous consoles.

PS4 seems to be doing very well in this period, and hopefully they'll be able to keep up the momentum long after all this hype has died down. Still, it's pretty amusing to see how much they are winning over their competitor with all of these news reports popping up every now and again, especially since said competition seems evil.

Sony's winning the battle, but it will be a long war.

Short reply, without any facts or opinion, but a true one sir/mam. This war is far from over. It has just begun, and from the 180 flips of Mircrosoft and changing all the obnoxious policies, it seems that they are back to their feet now after being knocked out cold by PS4 at E3. But the fact of the matter is this - Sony seems to be really doing well right now which makes me happy :)

Brand loyalty is sometimes very much a regional thing. Here in the UK , the Xbox has always been more popular than the PlayStation, with the 360 selling over 8 million copies in comparison to 5 million of the PS4. So whilst they might have achieved success in the Netherlands, they are bound to drop down elsewhere, for example in the UK. But still, it's a worthy achievement.

Xbox is really popular here in India as well. I was a Xbox gamer myself for the last generation, but their absolutely nonsensical and bizarre policies were enough to leave the Microsoft's ship and jump on the cruising Sony's ship.

Their various recent changes is not going to change my decision now. Who knows what they might do in future again. It's there console after all. They might bring all the policies back again.

As the Xbox One slowly becomes a better Xbox 360 just like the PS4 being a better PS3 the gap will close. I still think that by the end of the day the PS4 will have an edge in sales (rightfully so).

How can PS4 be a better PS3? I am sorry, but I couldn't understand you :)

Its good news for sure, and I imagine that it is a good indicator of the larger picture in Europe, but whenever I see these types of things I wonder how much they really mean.

For example, I could take a sample of the people in my town and say that the Xbone is outselling the PS4 by 2 to 1, but if I go to the next town over the PS4 is outselling the Xbone 10 to 1. Without further numbers and statistics to compare to it doesn't really mean all that much. But maybe thats just the maths nerd in me talking.

Microsoft has really gone closed and closed minded with the One. They built the system to be more proprietary than the PS 4. The PS 4's barrier to developers are much lower. Essentially you could take the beginning of this generation's console war and flip flop the roles. The Xbox is making a lot of mistakes and the PS 4 is looking prettier than before. What's crazy to think is we only have 2 big companies fighting in this so there's no spread of fans to more than the PS 4 when they leave the Xbox so Sony is just racking up new sales over and over again.

Its not surprising that the PS 4 runs better though, a lot of Microsoft's technology is about software over throttling hardware. Over time PS 4 will be stronger still but the gap will be less significant. Sony has always designed their PS's over time to be power houses and this is no different.
