The big question has come. I don't want to offend anybody here but I actually the PC is superior to the PS4. Debate!

PC is always superior to consoles in terms of hardware (which result in much better graphics).
In terms of games? consoles beat PC any day.
Let me list you a few PS or console exclusvies:
Uncharted Series
MGS series
The Last of Us
Heavy Rain (I know many people hate that game)
and ....
I would take PS with lower graphics over PC with superior graphics anyday, simply because the games on consoles are superior in terms of gameplay and story.
In terms of games? consoles beat PC any day.

Exclusive games comes down to opinion. There are a lot of PC exclusive games that appeal to a different type of gamer than one that loves Uncharted/mgs/The Last of Us. There are all the Blizzard games, Sim City, Arma series, Total War series, DOTA 2, blah blah blah. Games are only superior in terms of gameplay when they are designed for that console. If you play a port of a game on PC of course it won't always be the best gameplay. Ever tried games like Sim City 2000, Minecraft, or Counter-Strike, or Half-Life series on console? wah wah wahhhhh. I had BF3 on PC and console and PC was better in every aspect.
One of the only "superior" claims console can boast is it's ease of use which blows PC gaming away.
Of course a $3000 PC is going to be superior overall when compared to a $400 console... just like anything else priced 7 times higher than its competition. Start talking "for the money" and you actually have a debate.

I think PC will always be ahead of the ball when it comes to performance and graphics. But I do agree with Nackles about the games, it all comes down to personal opinion/taste. Although I've never done gaming on the PC, it's the console games that appeal to me more.

With a PC in 6 months time you can whack in a huge graphics card and upgrade your CPU and RAM so can keep cutting edge technology.
With consoles the tech is fixed for the duration of the machine and whilst firmware updates can free up a little memory they can't improve the actual spec of the console in terms of GPU and CPU.
For me it's a no brainer - £350 = a very poor gaming PC, lots of hassle with compatibility and drivers, horrible O/S in Windows and I get enough K&M action at work so like to chill with my DS4.
Fast slick UI on PS4.
Plus the PS4 is far quieter than a gaming PC rig and I don't need liquid nitrogen to cool it LOL!
I would prefer to pay PC prices for games though ideally!

This discussion is pointless. Pc will always be better in hardware, just cause you can get better hardware. For more money of course.
Try getting a PC to run like a PS4 for $400. TRY.
Now, money aside. It's really down to preference, I like both and will continue to have both.

When it comes to hardware, PC is always better than consoles since a PC is a suped up console in itself. But the games is where the PS4 (and all the consoles) shine, PS4 exclusives like The Last of Us will surely make you want to buy a PS4.
I'll never understand why people feel the need to debate this. Of course the PC can be built to be more powerful. That same powerful pc will not be sold 7 million times in 6 months tho. Not to mention, a pc is meant for a lot more than gaming. Its not even worth comparing a console to a pc IMO.

The PC wins hands down, no if's, and's or but's. I own a PS4 and a PC and I will play the PC any day. As far as exclusive games go, there are tons of exclusive games for the PC that are true gems, such as Amnesia and the Penumbra series.

Only if you spend a bit more and don't mind the hassle of setting/tweaking all your games, looking for drivers and gaming against a lot of hackers who cheat LOL!!
For ease and cost I would say PS4 wins v £350 PC in terms of gaming.
At £500 ish or maybe a bit more PC wins.
If you want an easy life and aren't a graphics maniac who then absolute best resolutions and frame rates money can buy then consoles are a good choice for casual no fuss gaming.

No matter what exclusives the PS4 has, PC is definitely better :
1. Upgradable
2. Bigger memory, easier to mod, great performances (60 + FPS)
3. No need to pay for a PS Plus Subscription
4. Better graphics
5. Less limited
However, the PS4 has some good features too.

The thing is, PS4 is a better value at $400. A PS4 will trump a $400 PC. Yes, everyone knows the PC is the master race. But the PS4 gives you a BluRay player, console exclusive games, Twitch recording, and the other features that haven't come in yet (i.e. taking over your friend's game). Not to mention the fact that some games simply run better on consoles compared to crappy PC ports (looking at you GTA IV). Not to mention you have couch multiplayer. If you have a friend over, you can just hop on a console and play. But if you want something you can upgrade and are a hardcore gamer, PC is your bet. But the PS4 is no slouch and a better value.

Why ask when the answer is so obvious. Everyone knows the PC is better than any gaming console out now not just the PS4. People buy gaming consoles for the sake of convenience and piece of mind. I don't have to worry about my hardware going outdated in a couple of months. I just buy a game, run it and don't have to worry about compatibility issues or my drivers are outdated or I don't have enough RAM. Lastly, like others have said, console exclusive games that in my opinion are better than PC games. One more thing, I doubt a $400 PC can have the same specs as the PS4 as of right now.

If you want to play a Sony game you need a PS4... That's always something to consider.
I've been a hardcore PC and Console gamer for a long time. The way I see it, the best thing about consoles is the ease of use. But that's changing now. Steam made PC gaming 10x easier and you can see the instant rise in popularity.
Plus the indie gaming is huge on PC. PS4 is growing indie too, but PC is much easier to develop for and publish.

Easy as cake! The latest Nvidia GTX 750 was launched and it's more than enough for gaming at medium.

Meh, I heard the controller for the SteamBox needs some work. Those who tested it said it was fine for platformers but sucked for FPS-type of games. The idea is fascinating and has lots of potential though.

Yeah the PC will always win hands down when it comes to consoles. My husband and I both have alien-wares and we love them. We are in process of getting our ps4 as we speak, but we do have a ps3 and we are on the laptops a lot more. I like Dark souls better on the pc than on the ps3 as well. Oh and if you have an alien-ware I am not sure if they work with other controllers, but your ps4 controller will work on your laptop if you do not want to get an Xbox 360 one.

The PC is better when it comes to hardware of course. The advantage with a PS4 is that you usually don't have any troubles to play a game, I mean on the computer you sometimes encounter some random hardware or software problems which can be quite annoying.
And also I think playing with your mate in the living room is much more fun than just playing online.
$400 to play last generation games and that will still look good even in 4-5 yars is a plus for me too, a $400 dollar PC will be outdated much quicker.

PC always wins, for one simple fact: you don't have to replace the entire thing to upgrade it. I'm running a Frankenstein of a PC, that was originally built in '05. The graphics card has been upgraded four times since then. That said, console gaming isn't going anywhere. I chose to get a PS4 instead of upgrading my rig again.
