I've never been very impressed by the Xbox- I've always found the Playstation to be more refined and sophisticated. But nobody can deny that the Xbox has great graphics.
Have you checked out a mid to high end gaming rig the in the last 5 years? Most new games are the equivalent of playing the games on low detail for the PS4/Xbone. Now, with that said at least the console versions were designed to work with the exact specs of the console where the PC version quality depends on your rig and especially your CPU.
All systems have advantages and disadvantages. This is my preferred order:
1) PC Rig - You can get a $150 GPU that blows away the consoles. The PC costs more up front but is cheaper if you buy a lot of games thanks to steam and good quality games for $4 with the daily specials. The Big picture display allows me to hook it up to a HDTV and then just use remote desktop into it if I need to do update anything on the PC and easier than using a wireless keyboard and mouse in front of a PC.
2) PS4 -- Has best graphics capabilities now and it should get better in the future. However, the Sony Exclusives are the real reason this is the best console. I love Naughty Dog, Quantic Dreams, and normally Sucker Punch although I found Infamous 3 to be the weakest of the three.
3) Xbone -- This is a solid console but Microsoft screwed the pooch when they came out with DRM, no second hand games, no sharing, having a camera built in, and being $100 more for what is a inferior game system IMO. I don't trust the division of Microsoft that makes the Xboxes. The RROD on the 360 was ludicrous how many times it occurred. I have played Forza 4 but only seen Forza 5 via Youtube. It looks like a solid game but it has gone the route of what Sony did with Gran Turismo. It is more about paying for the cars. The PS2 version was the best version as it included all the cars and could watch HDTV looking replays even on the PS2 which I believe did 480p tops but man those replays looked good. I am also concerned that Microsoft wont change their policy on used games and such when they get enough sales. I would actually be fine with no used games if they did like Steam and would sell a $60 game for $40 three weeks after the release and down to $10 and under after a year.
Wii U - Nintendo makes very unique games and I would not mind playing the new Zelda but the one Tablet hookup was a bad choice. They should at least allow the opportunity to buy multi[;e ones because I think it could be nifty to have your own screen to call plays on sports games when playing someone else. However, Nintendo is producing hardware that is obsolete when it hits the market in terms of graphical power. And there is just so much Mario games a person can take. Mario Kart is old and motion controls are annoying to me these days. I think Nintendo would have been better to produce a console that was close to the PS4/Xbone and try not to make the console so casual. I honestly think that people should be able to use their tablets with games like PS4 (and I think Xbone) allows. I think Nintendo has turned into a niche product but I honestly think a good tablet is a better purchase than a Wii U.
