PS4 vs. Xbox One - The Ultimate Showdown!!!

Yeah tell me about the money side of things ! LOL I also have a Vita, PS3 and Xbox360, and still play them all. What can i say.. gaming is my hobby when i'm home of an evening :) Not much on TV, and some of the games are more entertaining than films anyway..

Dunno what it is about PC's though i just can't warm to them. I'm such a tecno noob, i think i'm scared of them! LOL I'd rather buy a console where i don't have to worry about graphics cards, blah blah blah, as with consoles i can just plug it in and play :)

Re XB1 v PS4, a LOT of the negativity towards the Xb1 came from the rediculous policies they tried to implement. DRM etc. Then we have all this 1080p 60 fps stuff.

The way i look at it yes on paper the PS4 is a much better machine than the Xb1, but i didn't buy a console to look at technical specs. I bought a console to play games. Do you get Nintendo 3ds fans argue with Sony Vita fans over the games resoultions on those ?

For me it's all about the games, irrespective of platform. As long as they are good and work i love them all :)

Fair play mate no way could I convince the better half I needed all those machines LOL it was hard enough getting a PS4 (you still have a PC and PS3 why do you need another machine).

I cook all the dinners :) Plus the missus can hear me laughing a lot when i play online with my mates so she can see the benfit of what gaming brings. I set her up in her den in the conversatory, i've got main TV and consoles in the front :) She gets lovely meals cooked for her, i get to game :) Win win :)

Anyway... we disgress... back on topic :)

I stick with one system myself and I build my own computer rigs but hate PC gaming. I stopped in the days when Unreal Tournament was the most popular game. I just hate the fact that computer gaming has so many issues because everyone has a different GPU and games are usually optimized for either Nvidia or Radeon graphic cards. Everyone has the same hardware with the consoles so the software is written exactly for your system. Also, most computer games are not designed for large screen TVs. The font will be way too small at higher resolutions.

You do get the best of both worlds by having all the major consoles. What is your platform of choice? The great thing is you can play all the multi-platform games on your preferred system and use the controllers you like best and then buy the exclusives for each console.

The Xbox is a good gaming platform but I just prefer the fact that Sony uses better hardware and has the most exclusives that I like. If Naughty Dog and Sucker Punch were exclusive to the Xbone then I would probably have that system. My experience is that all the systems have their plu and minuses. It will be interesting to see if developers can get all the games in 1080p @60fps once they learn how to code better for the Xbone. If not, I think this is going to be a bad generation for Microsoft.

II personally feel like Sony did a good job on the PS4 but if they would have built in ability to play videos in MKV, MP4, AVI, and other formats as well as music then they would get even more 360 users to switch to the PS4. However, this is stuff they can do we a firmware upgrade so it will be interesting to see what happens.

Xbox one is no match for PS4 :)

I like ps4 more than anything :)

PS4 is the next most generate console, for at least 7 years.

I think the PS4 is still going to be the best console for at least 5 years, until something new comes out.

NO argument from me but that doesn't mean there will not be exclusives for the Xbone that I wish were on the PS4. Lets face it, it will be easier to port or port down to 920p for the Xbone than any generation before with these consoles being similar and more like a mid range PC than ever before. I still like the PS3 the best because of the cell processors and very unique architecture even if it took developers a while to code for it.

So why was Bayonetta 2 only on the Wii? I never even read if that sequel was any good but that was a fun game even though the PS3 got the short end of the stick with the quick port.

That is a big shame. I would have loved to see a collaboration from Microsoft and Sony here...

Are you responding to about Bayonetta 2 or that you want Microsoft and Sony to collaborate on a console? That would be a nightmare and there would be no good exclusives with only the Wii U to compete against.

I am serious that I think if Microsoft and Nintendo worked together on a console, they could make something special. There is always going to be a fan base for the Nintendo games and especially if they acquired Sega games. Sony would have one hell of a battle between a system that could have both something like Bioshock Infinite, Zelda, and Super Mario World.

That would reach quite a broad number of users and open up the Japanese market much more for Microsoft.

Yeah I am sure that it is. I am sure that it has more features as well. I do agree that the Xbox seems to be more of a television than a gaming console. I always found that a little odd. I mean many have their own preference. I know some bought both and some went from xbox to sony.

The PS3 was a great home entertainment console. You watch all your DVD's, Bluray, and 3D Bluray movies as well as stream movies from computers, NAS, etc.

I think it is normal for the gaming systems to be able to play back videos, have Netflix, HBOGO, etc. They are computers designed to run software on your TV. I don't think the TV tuner ads value for me because I would rather just use my cable box if I was watching live Tv which I only due for sports.

Well, I am still having a lot of fun with the Infamous. But I feel like it is the only reason I've bought the PS4.

For the last 6 years I've owned a 360, however I don't want Windows 8 rammed down my throat (the main reason for declining PC sales). Plus I no longer trust MS, the XBone is just an update away from their original ideas that nearly all games hated. So my next console and that of many of my friends on the 360 will be a PS4

I also think the PS4 wins the console wars this time around. I hear the PS4 has GDDR5 video memory which is much faster than the Xbox ones DDR3 video memory. The faster the video memory, the faster data gets transferred by the GPU.

Its technology is far superior. The games are great too. As you have said, the GDDR5 is definitely better.

Hey Guys i own a xb1 and ps, the ps4 seems to be alot smoother gaming as we all want a machine to be built around gaming...xb1 is more an entertainment machine but still has its pros but for me ps4 is the one!!!

Does the xb1 allow you to hear sound solely through headphones like the ps4 ?
