PS4 vs. Xbox One - The Ultimate Showdown!!!

I think Microsoft did much better on their initial launch lineup. Even if all the games aren't amazing there is enough variation there to make things interesting. But I think Sony has the better 2014 head of it. The exclusives are amazing, varied, and games that I can't wait to get my hands on. It's what's effecting my decision to get the PS4 first.

Microsoft is pushing the kinect platform wayyyyy too much. Its a little ridiculous actually, I think if people don't want to use the kinect, they shouldn't have to. End of story. PS4 is doing things the right way, you can use the motion sensing if you'd like, but its not built into the system.

Xbox One is a mediaplayer, while the Playstation 4 is an ultimate gaming console (that can play media). Sony already has won this "war"

Most of the new Xbox One owners are going into sites like Digital Foundry, so that they can find facts to support their console superiority. And they're shocked to find out that the PS4 has almost a 50% edge in power. And I'm also seeing posts in Microsoft's own Xbox One forum, begging for any info on hidden power or future upgrades for their console. The posts are hilarious. ;)

I guess that I should cut them some slack. I went through the same thing back in the 90's over the Sega Saturn. I just assumed that since the Genesis was awesome, then the Saturn would be too. Boy was I wrong.

It's always interesting to see how the fanboys act during a console release. I just encourage Nintendo fans to stay out of it after all it's WWMD (What Would Miyamoto Do). Other than that, I don't know why Xbox fanboys are trying to argue about power. It's a fact that the PS4 is better hardware wise.

well im an xbox fan always been xbox and have an xbox one but brought a ps4 aswell ,so here what i think
xbox one pro's

nice machine
very nice controller but bad battery life
the system runs smoothly and is easy to use with plenty of apps and the games are pretty good .

bad points
wtf was they thinking of turning a gamers machine into a smart box i mean ive spent £1000 on a 60inch 3d smart tv that was designed to do smart tv stuff and it does it very well.
where as my xbox one is sat next to my god dam windows 8 pc and cant even stream my music or videos that i record when racing my bikes so its not very smart after all so in my eyes a very big waste of time and has hindered the machine , how many bloody gamers want to sit or stand waving there god dam hands about like a tit lol.
all the arcade games i brought cant be played on it either yet there re releasing them on the new arcade which you have to buy again

ps4 pros
looks very nice
like the mouse and controller
dash is nice and simple and easy to use
only games ive played so far are psn free ones but look nice

bad points
god dam the battery lasts 5 mins and you give us the shortest lead least with a NES i can sit on the sofa and still play lmao 60inch tv 1 ft away aint good for the eyes
again who the hell are you to tell me i cant stream my music collection or videos ,surly you must see thats a fail right there, who the hell is going to go by the same music twice ? so again a feature that has no relevance on a console made for gaming

so in all im finding myself using the ps4 more and more so think they have pulled ahead on this console

I preordered my ps4 8 months ago and got it on day 1. There is zero doubt that Sony has a graphical edge over Microsoft. However, if I was on the fence now, I would wait it out and enjoy my ps3/360 and wait and see who wins this war. Sony has lost my loyalty with trying money grabs such as selling 99 cents angry birds Star Wars for $40 bucks with a lack of real games. They also have pissed me off in the new direction of the PS+ which appears to be less full free games and -partial online versions of games only. It still will cost you $60 bucks for the full Drive Club and I am not big on multiplayer. They really need the ability to turn the sound and LED off on the controller. I have two controllers so I can keep one charged at all times because it does not last long. Yes I can order a 16 ft micro usb cable from Amazon for a couple of bucks but I had third party wireless controllers back in the PS2 days. Who wants to go back to wired controllers. I would love the ability to use the DS3 controllers instead of the DS4. There is nothing that has properly using the touchscreen at this point.

The reason I did not cancel my PS4 preorder is because of the exclusives that will come out for the PS4s. They have the better games IMO and I am sure Naughty Dog will figure out how to use 100% of the PS4 CPU/Memory/GPU which will make the lack of controller a bigger issue.

The only difference is that next generation I wont initially be leaning towards Sony as they have shown me nothing in customer loyalty with their cheap MS like money grabs. I would pick the PS4 this generation with no bias but if Microsoft learns from their mistakes, I might look at the Xbox One 720 or whatever they will call it.

And for goodness sakes Sony, add a freaking IR port on the device. It would not cost much and you make your real money off software not hardware.

Just remember the so called Console War is nothing more than a marketing ploy to sell more consoles by both Sony and Microsoft.

The good news is that the competition could very well benefit the gamer by creating better games. The downside is the best games are almost always console exclusives.

I agree with you. ;)
ps4 is the most amazing video game console created yet.
LOL

I know everyone likes to think what they bought is best but Microsoft really shot themselves in the foot at E3, I think the thing that most people remember most from E3 is the video of Sony showing how easy it was to loan a game to a friends on the PS4.

Sony released the same time as Xbox this gen, has a history of more exclusives, and there is simply no debating that Sony has more CPU and GPU power due to superior specs. The $100 price difference and the fact you are required to have Kinect seems to be nails in the coffin IMO for the Xbone.

However, keep in mind Microsoft could (but probably doesn't) have some aces up their sleeves with some great exclusives that everyone is talking about. It would only take two big system seller titles in early 2014 to put Microsoft ahead of the pact.

I like Nintendo and appreciate what they have done but the Wii was a joke IMO and the WII U with the tablet like controller was a dumb idea. Everyone already has a tablet and Nintendo could allow people to use their own tablet for a second screen or control pad.

I believe the Steam console could possible sell a lot more than people expect and have a horse in the race even if a dark horse.

I am for all the consoles. The more competition, the better the games we will get!

I agree, Sony all the way. Not just cause I love this forum and that I love Sony PS but cause they seem to focus more on gamers and not just money. They even help indie devs and anyone who has a dream to make a game. It's huge and I love it! GO SONY!

I chose Sony also but you are delusional if you think Sony cares about anything other than money. See them charging 40 bucks for the $1 Angry Birds.

Sony is only hoping to make money off the indie developers and I promise Sony will have a lopsided contract in their favor.

Sony won me over with their exclusives in the past. Microsoft always felt like they were trying to get every last dollar out of you. However, this generation, the PS + is not such a great deal. You are pretty much forced in having it in order to play multiplayer games.

Sony is about money just like the other console makers. Also, Sony only used the loaning games anti-DRM stance this generation to get a leg up on Microsoft this generation. It is very likely that their will be no more physical games after this generation and all game companies want to get rid of the used games market.

You can be as loyal to Sony as you want but Sony does not care anything about you as a individual and they don't care if you own the P1, PS2, PS3, and PS4 and every game made by Sony. The only thing they care about is selling you hardware/software in the future and try to charge you with overpriced warranties which they sell online.

I do like Sony exclusives but I also understand that Sony only cares about its bottom line.

I like Sony but I'm more of a Nintendo fan. Though they make mistakes, I always felt like Nintendo cares more about their quality then quantity. Still all three care about the bottom line it's just that Microsoft is far more obvious about it. When you think about the big three preception is key and Microsoft didn't do themselves any favors. Their PR team should be fired.

Well the latest figures suggest that the PS4 has sold 4.2 million units worldwide as of December 28, 2013, compared to 3 million units to that from the Xbox One. These figures speak for themselves.

If you look closer at the numbers at all the screw ups MS had at E3, it is closer than expected. This still could do either way. The fact that the Japanese wont buy the xbox but Americans buy Sony is a big factor in video game sales.

I have always liked Sony even though Xbox is good product but I always felt like MS is trying to Nickel and Dime me to death. Sony seems to be going the same direction.

It will be many years before we can even speculate on who will win this. A couple of console selling Games for either party could drastically changes things in a hurry.

I just hope all 3 parties (Including Wii U) has good exclusives to make the market more competitive. I personally disagree with the person who said Nintendo is more original. Nintendo just keeps updating the same Super Mario World, Super Smash Brothers, Mario Kart, etc. over and over and then release a new Zelda (Good games) once every 4 years.

The fact that Bayonetta 2 is released only on the Wii U kind of sucks but Nintendo needs 3rd PARTY exclusives big time.

It's not in the sales, it's in what the Gamers see and what are the Specs, just because Xbox one had less buyers that doesn't mean that they are not worthy to be the best. It's just people have more taste for things that they think are more popular.

It's just like this: It's not about the quantity, but about the quality.

It is naïve to think a small margin of 4.3 to 3 million is big difference.

One great exclusive and the Xbone could overtake PS4 sales easily. Sony makes their money off of the software not the hardware. If Microsoft has a user base of around 50 million and Sony 60 million, MS can still win by selling more software. The hardware sales especially at the beginning is not where the money is made. Sony used to sell the PS3 at a loss atone point.
