PS4 which region is better?

I'm thinking of acquiring a Playstation 4 soon and I'm thinking on which version of the console should I get or if it even matters. When I purchased my ps3 I wasn't aware that there were region locks and I had a lot of problems with incompatible games... so now that I'm more aware of that I want to get as much info as I could possibly get before buying one. If it matters I'm from an Asian country and out power voltage is 220v. Also I wanna know about better deals in terms of PSN and online gaming communities. Thanks!

PS3 was region free mate only very very few games were region locked.
PS4 is same, all games are region free, some online content might be region locked, but so far none as far as I know.

The region difference is more important when it comes to movie playback, which PS4 sucks at anyway.

Yeah man mine was never region blocked lol. it just depends which games you playing and which country you in man?

Yeah, it doesn't matter unless you want to download stuff off the Japanese PSN or something.

But when I bought my PS3 they told me that some games wouldn't work on it specifically other region games and true enough I had a region 2 game which didn't play. ._. I have no idea why it didn't though. I just always assumed that it was cause it was from a different region and stashed the game away. What about playing online? I never tried to play online on the PS3 but would a different region console also block me from another region? like say I own an asian model. Would I also be able to only connect to Asian server games? I'm from the Philippines BTW.

What game was it? Because if this really happened, I think that knowing what game did not work would be an important piece of info in this post.

I've never experienced anything of this sort, so I'm curious.

The only thing I could possibly think of why a game would be locked would be because of your particular country. For example, if a game is flat-out banned in Asian countries, it may not play on an Asian region PS. I have no idea if that's actually how it works, or is even possible, but I guess it's a logical reason?

The only two things you should be concerned about is voltage and the PS Store. Voltage is different so you'll need an adaptor. For PS Store, you'll just need to decide which one you want to be a PLUS member to to get the most out of. Games have been region free since the PS3, only DLCs are region locked but not all of them. As far as I know, MP is based on your network IP and not on the region of the console nor games.

One more thing is the warranty, if you want easier warranty buy the PS4 from your region because it's a pain to have to send it back to US or EU if anything happens for warranty claim.

During the entire life span of the PS3 up to this date, there have been a total of about 2 PS3 games region locked, they only region problems you would have, is if you bought say a US game, you could not use Japanese DLC for the game, but thats no problem as you can create a PSN account for most regions of the world, i personally have a US, and EU and a Japanese account.

I use the US because its cheaper buying PSN from there than it is in my own country, i use the EU account for occasionally buying DLC for my disc based games and the Japanese account for the odd demo.


So on to your answering your question, no it does not matter where you buy your PS4, but it would be advisable to buy it from the country you are in, in case it needs to be returned.
