PS4 will support PS3 headsets

Why not start off the first thread on a good note? PS4 is doing the opposite of what Microsoft had intended to do - having PS3 headsets compatible with PS4! This feature will save Playstation users a lot of money, and the ability to use headphones that they like, not some cheap stock headphone.

The upcoming PlayStation 4 console will support previous generation PlayStation 3 wireless headsets, a Sony official at San Diego Comic-Con told Polygon.

This is good news. I think with such a small detail like the headset, they were willing to give it to the fans. Besides, I doubt they made too many changes with the audio enough to warrant an upgrade requirement such as the touchpad and share button for the controllers.

Great news, they could have very easily monetised on this and sold us a new headset, but it's good marketing practices like these that really make Sony stand out from the competition.

All good but what about our 'wired' ones?

My main gaming headset is a Sharkoon X-Tatic Digital 5.1 so really hope wired ones are suppported too.

The PS4 will support the Bluetooth headset. OK
But what happens with wired headsets or USB?

If I remember correctly, there is a jack for connecting headphones on the levers. It's just that I wonder if my headphones work. Normally taken in the controller should work without problems. I hope so.
