I have a 1440p monitor and I found it really stupid that the ps5 don't support 1440p resolution, there is really not a single reason to not support it, why do they want to enrage us for free?

It doesn't make sense. I guess their thinking is it's niche so they focused more on what the masses were using, which is HD and 4K. From what I understand, the OS is missing a lot of stuff at launch. Sounds like they prioritized things over others to keep it stable at launch. I'm sure 1440p is gonna be supported in the future with a firmware upgrade so be patient.
They said that they can update their firmware to support it, it just depends on the demand. So, start demanding.
