PS5 Placement

Hello, I recently was lucky enough to get my own PS5.

One question I had, though, was is it safe to place it in an entertainment center like this?

There's about 2 inches of space behind the console, but the back part of the entertainment center doesn't actually close all the way. So there is some space at the top that is still open.

Just wanted to ask and make sure that I am not doing anything that might damage the console.

Does anyone else have theirs in an entertainment system?

Above is a video from Spawn Wave talking about how hot the console can get in environments, or objects. Basically, just as long as your system isn't enclosed too much, you should be just fine the way it is.

I think you'll be ok. They designed it with entertainment centers in mind. I think most people will have it in some kind of entertainment center. Heck, all my consoles are in an entertainment center. But when I designed and built mine, I designed it around airflow so there's a good like 8 inches from the back of the shelf to the back of the enclosure to allow that extra airflow (the shelf doesn't go all the way to the back). But in reality, as long as there's a couple inches on each side, it'll get plenty of ventilation.
