How to not kick the remote player out but take control and play in the physical ps5. Me and my mate play my ps5 me here at home my mate remotes into the PS5 from his place. When I try and take control to have a turn in demon souls it kicks him out of remote play session ... Please how do I stop this from happening.

Find a paperclip-sized pointer, such as your teeth scraper, and point it at the back of your controllers. There should be a button to reset it. Your mate, included.

Pair each controller to intended consoles.

Source: Sony

Don't use controller on said console again, or it will get confusing. If possible, buy a colored controller to avoid confusion.

That's for controllers. But for remotes? Here ya go...
  • Go to Settings > Accessories > General > Bluetooth Accessories
  • This will give you a list of any connected devices.
  • Select the media remote and press delete.
As for remote play..

Remove his account from YOUR SYSTEM. Vice versa on YOURS. I'm talking about the "user" on the system(s). Your account is still on Sony's network, so all you'd need to do is re-login.

Remove remote play completely as an app. On both systems. Both of you have your own accounts on your systems.

This way, you're not confused as to which account is for which and vice-versa. The PS5 assumes that your mate wants to play remote play on HIS system. And YOU, too.. That's why its kicking you out, and him out. So you need to unlink everything.

So, on your systems: Unlink the second "user" by removing the user. Same goes for your mate. Leave your main users alone. On that system.

So, let's say:

Console 1: Your main account is "Stone Cold," the secondary is "The Rock." Remove "The Rock."

Console 2: Your mate's is "The Rock" and is main user. The secondary is "Stone Cold" so remove "Stone Cold."

It says here remote play requires user login, and remote play app. So, that's why I'm saying this.

And I quote: "Stream your PS5 games to another PS5 or PS4 console with your DualSense controller via a home broadband wired network. The same PlayStation Network account is required to connect both consoles. You'll find the Remote Play application on your PS5 home screen."
