Ps5 with weird symptoms

Ok I’m going to try to explain this, my ps5 I just bought was supposed to have a bad power supply. It tested fine but replaced it anyway. The ps5 will turn on fine and play games as long as the top metal cover is completely unbolted. If I have 1 screw or all the screws in it however it will not work whatsoever. It doesn’t beep or show light. Also the fan doesn’t work but is getting 12v to the plug. Any help will be appreciated.

Top metal cover??? Where? This thing is covered in plastic unless you're talking about inside the unit... Do you have a pic of it?

Odd... sounds like either a bad grounding issue or it wasn't put back together properly and having the screws in where they should be, is pinching something crucial. The fact that the fan doesn't work at all says to me, that it wasn't re-assembled right. Something's missing there. Might be worth sending to Sony. At least they know the unit inside and out.

Figured it out after multiple attempts of taking it apart and putting it back together, after it was working properly and reliably I replaced the fan and it works great. Must have been putting the screws a hair too tight and other times to loose don’t know lol.
