Quote Notifications

Hello,

I was wondering if it would be possible to add some kind of quote notification system? I don't know if VB 4.2 has a built in one that can be activated or whether you'd need to add a mod to do it but I was wondering if it would be possible to have one. I think having one will help discussions as often I don't check every thread I make a reply in but sometimes some quotes me and I miss it or I go back to it at a later date when their isn't much point of replying any more. So I think it would help discussions progress.

That's a great idea. I agree-I wouldn't mind being alerted if I'm quoted as well. We'll look into that!

That's a good feature, I didn't even know it existed and I've done numerous forum administration work in the past. I love forums, so much you can do, so confusing most of the time when a new software comes out. When Invision Powerboard came out, I was like "What the f?" It took almost a year to learn everything about it. Same with VB but it's much simpler.

Well I can't say they'll have it for VB 4.0 forums but I know its out for some of the older versions and I've seen it in action and its really good.

Well, I'm happy to say that we are going to be adding this feature shortly. When I say shortly,what I mean is that we are working on an unbelievable amount of new stuff for this site and that while we won't get this done tomorrow, it will get added!

Hell yes! I cannot wait to see what else is in store cause it seems like you're working on way more than just a quote notification system. I love this forum so to see it blossom will definitely please my nerdiness.

Its all set, for now its set to default for any new users. If you registered on this site before 1/3/2014 you can activate the pm notification when someone quotes you by going to your user profile -> general settings and scrolling to the bottom and hitting save. No options to change as PM notification option is now set to default. Only problem is that it doesn't click until the general settings are resaved.
