Ducktales Remastered - 9/10
An excerpt from my full review on G33k-e.com:
"Actually, compared to Mega Man, this was a downright easy game. Ducktales is a prime example of the most forgiving that Capcom ever really gets, and even then it’s still a fairly difficult game. Imagine my surprise when I read reviews on major websites such as Gamespot complaining that the new remastered game was too difficult. Too difficult? Really? You need to check your modern gamer privilege, bro.
I’m not going to lie: Ducktales Remastered is hard. It’s not even just Nintendo hard, it’s Capcom hard. On Normal difficulty, this game is possibly even more difficult than it was when I was a kid. Having recently played the game on the NES and Gameboy, I can confirm that the Remastered edition definitely has a bit of added challenge to it. However, the game isn’t necessarily more difficult because they screwed up the controls or anything, it’s harder because the levels are extended and contain much more original content."
Honestly, I love the fact that this game is so hard. It's the same level of difficulty that I remember from my childhood, when I played the original game. This is one delicious upgrade to one of my favorite video games of all time. One minute I'll be yelling obscenities at the screen and the next minute I'll be in joyous rapture, proud of the fact that I just beat the boss. 'Cause seriously? Screw that boss. He deserved to feel the wrath of my pogo-stick cane of doom.
