Red Ring of Death

I don't get Xbox consoles. I've had one for almost 2 years and have never got the infamous red ring of death. One of my colleagues got one on his Xbox the other day.

Is the red ring of death still an issue on the newer models of Microsoft's console?

I think the newer consoles, do not have the red ring of death problem. I could be wrong, though. I hope it got fixed, because I would be so ticked off, if my Xbox messed up!

We've got a relatively new 360, and we've never had a red ring of death problem. From what I've heard, it's mostly just an issue on the older models.
