Rumor has it that Crash Bandicoot Might Be Coming to PS4

Well this is very interesting indeed. I always liked Spyro more than I did Crash, but this would still be hugely exciting, and potentially enough to trigger me buying a PS4 (well, definitely alongside a couple of other strong titles).

Personally though, a sequel to Crash Bash would make me go out and buy a PS4 straight away. That game was like crack to a ten year old me.

I agree with everyone here. PS1 crash games or ever a new Crash Team Racing game would be awesome. Only if they can do the series justice though. If it ends up being like the PS2 crash games, then I'd rather they focus their efforts on something else.

PS4 is getting crash...

Am i the only one who is seeing the irony of this sentence?
Anyway, the trailer shown a lot of things, and i was expecting a lot of things of the release event, but looks like we got tricked. Can we also expect a new parappa, because that would be genius!

I would love to see Spyro back to but that's less likely to happen. It's like Jak & Daxter it's stuck in the we've moved on hell. The fact that this rumor has even a little traction is pretty much a miracle when it comes to fans of old school platforming. Indies do it so well and their so popular that it frustrates me that other than Nintendo most devs aren't interested because they think it's childish which isn't the case.

Release a new Spyro game as a launch title on the PS4 and people will be hurling their wallets at the television en masse. I wouldn't give up all hope though, especially with the recent trend of "hey we're remaking this classic game give us all your money" Kickstarters, most of which have proven to be obscenely successful.

True I mean Mighty No 9 is a thing because Capcom likes to pretend that Mega Man didn't exist. But to have a new Spyro? I would by it on nostalgia alone, I almost wouldn't care about the gameplay if it meant kicking it with that little purple guy. I think we might have to see what happens with Crash 4 because if that's a success then there's no telling what older franchises might make a comeback.

All true. A lot of the franchises some would like to see are older ones from those PSX and PS2 days and Kickstarter has been great for getting something started especially when it seems the industry has largely forgotten about a particular franchise or genre. Should be an indication that companies should entertain them when players are willing to pay for these games to get made.

...too bad Precursor couldn't get anything off the ground.

Mighty No. 9 getting made is just great. Do it yourself if the company you've poured so much time into won't get around to what used to be their mascot. Plus it should send the message of exactly how many would've been needed to actually get this project off the ground and how it wouldn't take away too much from other projects going on.

After seeing this topic for the third time, I get just as excited as the first time. Oh my God give me CRASH NOW! That was my first game ever on the next-gen 3d gaming on standard giant tv's.

That will definenty increase the interests of those purchasing the Playstation 4. Crash Bandicoot is a instant classic for any Playstation user. I have been playing that series almost all my life and I still am a fan of it to this day.

If Crash is a success then maybe that will start pushing more devs back into their archives. Hey if Mighty No. 9 is a success and really it's Kickstarter was amazing, that might push Capcom to making an official mega man game. The success of ressurected old school franchises might convince the industry to take a look at the old school games. There are plenty of 90's titles that I would love to see make a comeback. But first we have to get back Crash and with Naughty Dog at the helm, this might just work out.

The fact that you wrote Banjo reminds me of another series that I want to make a comeback. If Crash can do it, don't you think that Banjo Kazooie could to? I mean Rare may be a shell of its former self but still maybe just maybe a good Banjo Kazooie could come from it. I now want a world where both Banjo and Crash are current and on next-gen consoles.

I gave up hope for a good Banjo Kazooie coming from current Rare. The soul of that company (the original crew) is gone. They're getting out a new Killer Instinct, but it's more like "Nice, Killer Instinct is back!" than "YEAH! KILLER F'N INSTINCT!!! C-C-COMBO BREAKER! ULTRA!!" I don't know. The original Rare team are supposed to be working on a proper Banjo-Kazooie successor (it's basically the same reason why Mighty No. 9 was thrown into development).

Nuts & Bolts was a good "This was actually supposed to be an Xbox avatar game" but as a Banjo game? Nooooooo...

I remember Kirkhope (who did all that cool music for the series) said that the whole time Nuts & Bolts was in development he and a lot of the original Rare staff were basically of the "We don't know about this" and said that it was so not a Banjo game that the feeling was they should just make it a new game altogether then actually get to work on Banjo Threeie like they were supposed to.

He also said that he wished they would've gone back to Nintendo and made the Banjo games for them. I believe if they were a company similar to Retro, Nintendo would just leave them to their devices to work on Banjo, DK, and Conker (if they could've gotten the licenses for Banjo and Conker) and have Retro do Metroid and whatever the other games they were working on before Nintendo said "Stop that and do this."

I read that as well. It seems like Microsoft wants to get Rare doing something else other than Kinect games. Killer Instinct seems like it was planned for launch window, but they released it for launch (and for something resembling free) to pacify people following the whole Xbox One fumble.

Some companies just seem like they should be elsewhere. Rare was one of those companies.

Back to Crash! Naughty Dog will deliver the goods if they have the time and effort to put into it and don't stretch themselves too thin. We don't want a case of that Aliens game after all. I mean I don't really see that happening since Crash is Naughty Dog's...forgotten oldest child, but you never know.

Yeah, Nintendo does have a good reputation for mostly letting devs do their thing. Hopefully the original Rare crew gets back together someday and churns out another Banjo. But as for Crash, I would rather see Naughty Dog taking their time and making a good game than rushing it. But so far they've been hitting it out of the park. Their not the same company that made the great but flawed Crash 1, so I would imagine that the new crash would be awesome.

I'm expecting a sleek Crash if they get around to it. If it's a crew within Naughty Dog who are extremely familiar with the series it should turn out fine. If they get bogged down with bigger projects it could get handed off to a talented crew...who have other ideas for what to do. I doubt that will happen though.

Didn't they accidentally leak a picture of a New crash recently?

I just know of the leaked cover from Amazon France.

I just read that Activision removed all references to Crash from their website and took down the Crash page that they had online. It looks like they are making every effort to distance themselves from the series. To me it only lends a lot more credence to the fact that Crash 4 exists, that Sony owns the copyright, and we might really be getting the game. I can't believe it's actually happening.
