“A touch surface is disposed on one side of the handle. The touch surface has an indicator that is identified by a surface characteristic on the touch surface,” reads the patent. “The touch surface provides an area for receiving directionality control in response to interfacing by a finger of a user.”
Sony explains that a joystick on the PlayStation Move wouldn’t be appropriate because of the active nature of using the remote. Also, the touchpad could also function as an additional button, as the trackpad does on the PS4 DualShock 4 controller.
Do you guys want to see the Sony Move (2nd gen) announced? Do you really care? I think that they would have to make it AMAZING for me to even consider buying one. Why go with something that needs to be held anyways? I would rather use a Kinect any day of the week. I really think that Sony should focus more on trying to get something like that made for the PS4. Hands free is where it's at! I don't know, I hate to say it,but I'm quite disappointed in this and really hope that it's just a hoax. Changing it to have a touch pad in lieu of a joystick doesn't make this a next-gen accessory.
