Sega explains why Sonic Lost World is Nintendo exclusive | Wii U

A while ago, it was revealed that Sega was partnering with Nintendo in order to release a few exclusive games for the systems. One of those games is Sonic: Lost World and it has been receiving quite a bit of attention lately. Developer of the game, Takashi Iizuka has stated that the reason the game is exclusive on the Wii U is because it started out as a PC game but when thinking of a console to release it on, they chose the Wii U.

That seems fine to me, I've never really enjoyed a Sonic game that wasn't on a nintendo platform.
I mean other than the greatest Sonic game ever made and published on Playstation 3, really not sure why everyone hates the thing.
If I do end up playing this game it will probably be at a friends house most likely.

I really enjoyed the Sonic games up to where they started to lose the basic mechanics of what made it great. Sonic was this awesome platforming experience that used the concept of speed to navigate various challenges. When things started going crazy 3D and the more complex they became the less I enjoyed the games. The only outlier for this series is the Sonic game on Dream Cast which I loved. It was an RPG essentially and while it used a 3D environment it kept some mixes of the original mechanics and made you enjoy the characters more. I think its along the lines of Mario RPG which was really cool too.

It's funny to think how times have changed. If we go back thirty years, Sega and Nintendo were at each others throats with the NES and the Genesis. They were in constant competition over who could come up with more iconic and memorable characters, and now Sega is making games exclusively for Nintendo. Times are changing indeed, 30 years ago no one would have guest that this would be happening. And I think that this is good, there are some really great games coming out these days courtesy of Sega, so a big thumbs up to them.
