Sending PS4 Oversea

Modd

Just joined this site to ask this.
I have two nephews in Japan 13 and 10 year old. Last time I visited Japan was when younger nephew wasn't walking yet. I got my hands on PS4 thinking to sell to someone for some extra cash right about now. I was going to go greedy but I changed my mind. Cut to the point. I want to send the PS4 to them with 4 games and extra controller. I would love to just send them unopened box but here are questions for people with opened box.

PS4 is region free meaning they can get games from anywhere and play on any PS4 but is there setting to change language to Japanese in game or more importantly on console? I have Wii U and Wonderful 101. In game of Wonderful 101, there is option to change from English to Japanese or French. Are there setting like that in games and console? I'm sending them Kill Zone, Knock, AC:Black Flag and COD:Ghost.

I can open it, do updates here and send it. It kills the magic of breaking the OEM seal but if it can make things easier for them, well worth it. Just plug and play.
When my brother connects USA PS4 in Japan before their release date of Feb,2014, would it be problem (provided I can change the console to Japanese)? Can they look up IP and know it's in Japan so can they shut it down or could it stay standalone mode?

Just want to get some feedback of what I should do before sending or if there is show stopper. Any advise is very appreciated. This unit is going oversea even they are only going to be able to play there 4 games. I need to get it to them to make it special. Any advise please.

Here's another thing to consider. Most likely if you send a PS4 console over I doubt Sony in Japan will honor any warranty since its not bought there,so if something goes wrong with it you would have to get it fixed at a cost or get it sent back again.

Just a thought.

You should prepare it with the updates but regarding the games, it should work no matter where they are. Meaning they should be able to buy a game in Japan if they wanted to purchase another game for the PS4 that you send them. And as Oberon said, the warranty will be voided if it's in a different country. I don't think they really need the warranty, well unless of course there are some problems then they can just send it back to you...which would be costly and would probably be more cost efficient if they just sent it to a repair shop in Japan. Maybe other can chime in with other potential problems.

Thank you. I updated the system to 1.52. Changed the language to Japanese. I was so attempted to "Verify" if the games work but just put everything back. Wrapped in many layers of bubble wrap.

The bubble wrap will help. You never know how careless the people handling the shipments can be. And you can never be too safe, so wrap it up as much as possible! I'm not sure about this one but did you check if the voltage is compatible for Japanese outlets?
