sound issue

I am wondering if anyone is having the same sound issue as I am. Sometimes, not all the time, when i turn on my ps4 i get NO sound. if i put it in standby or turn it off and back on all sems fine. i notice this happens more when returning from standby mode vs a cold start. i am connected to my tv with no receiver via HDMI(good quality cable, not the one that came with ps4). And yes, the volume is turned up and all settings are correct.

I was just about to post the same topic when I came across yours. Yes. I am having the same issues, but mine always happens turning it straight on as I don't use standby. It happens a good 30% of the time for me. Its really annoying, especially when I don't pay attention and load up a game only to realize there is no sound. I have absolutely no idea why it is doing this, and would appreciate if anyone had similar issues and fixed it could help out.

idk if this problem fixed itself or what but it ahsnt happened to me in quite some time.

I JUST got done playing Madden, and I ended up plying two whole games with no sound because I didn't feel like rebooting. Its still an issue, not fixed/patched, etc.

I think it's mostly hardware defect as opposed to software glitching. Maybe some units have not so good hdmi ports that can't detect the sound input sometimes. When you have no sounds coming out, did you try wobbling the hdmi cable a bit to see if there is distortion to the sound?

Doesn't matter. I've made sure the cable is secure in the console and the television. I've even swapped out cables to see if it were the cable. Issues occurs no matter what I do, which narrows it down to the console in my opinion.
