Spotify on PS4

What does everyone think of the move to Spotify from whatever we were using before? (Music Unlimited, I think it was.. shows how much I used it! Haha)

I installed Spotify.. Just like using it on my phone. Funny thing was that I just got rid of my premium membership. There's some perks to using premium if you want to create play lists and stuff like that (especially if you are using it on your phone like I was).


So far so good. Just wondering what everyone thinks about it?

I installed it the other day. I like it a lot. I never used Music Unlimited but I guess lack of use is why it was discontinued, lol. The interface of Spotify is really nice and easy to navigate and while you're playing, it's easy to just hit the PS button and change a song or stop the playback. Only thing I don't like is games like Destiny where you can't turn off the music, you have to drown it out by increasing the volume of Spotify. I installed it on my PS3 as well. It definitely doesn't work as smoothly but works fine. Shame you can't use it on the PS3 during gameplay

I'm not really a music person so I'm not really one to use these kind of Apps.

I do wish though we could remove it from our selection of Apps to make room for things I do use.

I hear that. On PS3 you could remove unused apps. I tried deleting Music Unlimited on my PS4 (which it's still there) and I couldn't.

I'm a huge spotify fan, so I liked this move, however the app is not available in my country it seems

Then I wouldnt pay monthly for something I would hardly use.

It is subscription based yeah, that's why I'm not heavily invested in it because I'm not a music lover myself so it would be used rarely.

It might be different outside the US but here in the states I can use it for free; just have to sign up for it. You get advertisements but it's free. If you pay for premium, you can make your own lists, have "better quality" (so they say, lol) and ad free. Though when I game, I don't pay that close attention to the music to make my own lists, a genre is fine. I mostly use these streaming music services when I'm working, driving, whoopee with the girlfriend, or gaming so if I have random songs I've never heard of, I don't care. I just want the background sound

Honestly i love the ability to listen to my favorite band and game at the same time. Good move in my opinion

They used to have a pay level between Free and Premium.. Can't remember what it is though.

I decided to keep my premium since I've been using it a lot, and now to use it while I game.. Can't complain. I really like how I can control the music selection on my PS4 from my phone/tablet (I think the computer app works too if you're linked)

Loving this new addition, slightly annoyed at how it cuts off whilst playing Hustle Kings, but with other games, it works a treat.

Cuts off how? I haven't had any issues.. other than the normal sound issues I have between my controller/headset.

It's awesome. Listening to my favorite songs and playing games at the same time has always been one of my favorite things to do.
