Tag Team fighting games on the PS 1 sucked

Aside from Rival Schools, I think tag team fighting games on the PS 1 sucked big time. Take for instance Marvel vs Capcom and X-Men vs Street Fighter. I loved these games on the arcades. But when they came to the PSX, it became a 1 on 1 fighting game. You could just play a tag game (wherein you have the ability to switch characters at will in a fight) when you and your opponent choose the same characters.

Have you ever played these two games on the PS 1?

I have played 'em, and to be candid with you, I though they did a good job. These aforementioned games were damn good for that time man!

Maybe you did not play the arcade versions of the games. And didn't you notice that marvel vs Capcom and X - Men vs Street Fighter became a 1 on 1 match rather than a tag match? It's good if you consider it as a 1 on 1 fighting game. But for a tag fighting game? Nope. :)

Can't remember anything but I only owned Tekken 3 for the PS1. I guess it was just not the time for this kind of games.
