Tekken Revolution - Free To Play On PS3!!

I'm a big fan of Tekken, and probably now more than ever since Namco seems to be a cool company to give away their game to fans on PS3 (Starting June 11th). I'm not too sure about the details, but it seems to be the same version as the latest one/s. I wish they had released a version with a major update, but since it's free, that's hardly a legitimate complaint. I think announcements like these are just driving it home even more for Sony and I suspect they are basking in every inch of this current glory with moves like these.

What are your opinions on why Namco is suddenly giving away Tekken for free, and what do you think this means for the future of games? Do you think Sony is deliberately pulling off moves like these to salt the wounds of MS, or are they just coincidences?

That's awesome. I liked Tekken 6 alot (unfortunately the only entry I have played) and this being free to play is just icing on the cake. So is Revolution based on a previous game? (HD remake, a port or a totally new entry?)

I think Sony are just absolutely knocking it out of the park lately. But I hope to God they aren't doing all of this to soften the blow to whatever potential bad news they may announce at E3 regarding the PS4.

I'm a bit excited myself. I don't know what Namco is thinking by releasing a free to play Tekken game but I like it. I'm also wondering if this will be a remake of a previous game or a completely new version. Regardless, I know that it will be great.

Just downloaded it have played it. It is simply awesome. I've had a blast so far and I'm very inexperienced when it comes to fighting games. Controls are simple enough to learn the basics, but I do need lots and lots of practice. I basically have been mashing buttons most of the time trying to learn some moves. Unfortunately there is no tutorial to help me out there.

In a nutshell, it is a blast and I know I'll be playing this on a regular basis. Helps that the community so far have been nice and helpful. Surprising isn't it?

Has anyone here played this? I didn't even hear about it until recently. Are the controls similar to a standard Tekken game? Is it more fun than 6 (wasn't a big fan)?

Awesome. Thank you for sharing this. I am not sure why they'd give it out for free either. I've always been a huge Tekken fan so this news makes my day.

Lets just don't hope they get things like letting you play to unlock a new character etc. And I still got to finish tekken 6 on second thought.
