The Elder Scrolls Online

Well, as an elder scrolls fan, i think that this should never be made. The way they are treating the lore is horrible, and the gameplay doesn't seem anything more than a quick cash in on the series name, with not much work put into it.

But i will wait and see.

I cant wait for this game!Im a big fan of the Oblivion series and Skyrim just put my interest level for the series through the roof. Ill definitely be buying this game.

I have two opinions on this really:
1) I forsee retconning and irreverence for the expansive lore of the series so far, done with an archaic MMO formula that will not survive.
2) While its true I have been one of those that has been clamoring for multiplayer (or at least co-op) in my Elder Scrolls game, I DID NOT mean this. They SHOULD be working on Fallout 4 instead of this.

I'm quite split on this game. On one hand this is not what the community ever wanted, but on the other hand it is not your standard run of the mill MMO. They are bringing back some interesting ideas that never really took off like Realm vs Realm combat from Warhammer Online, then are using a dynamic combat system a bit like in DDO and there are a lot of little bits from the Elder Scrolls series such as voice acting all the NPC's. I don't really know how it will turn out, but for now I'll try not to be too skeptical.

From what I have glimpsed of the game it actually does not really look all that bad, so I might actually enjoy it. Also it should hopefully be a game that I might be able to play with my friends if we get a chance so that would be pretty cool I guess.

I will wait and see first hand reviews from people but if I had to decide now, I wouldn't buy this game. I thought Oblivion and Skyrim were magical games, no pun intended! The thought and depth to the games was staggering. This to me looks like a cash in, just like others have said. While the clips I have seen from trailers and screen shots do look good, I always take them with a pinch of salt as that is what they are supposed to do!

I hope they havent ruined the franchise, when this has happened in the past, game developers have panicked and rushed out the next game in the series trying to go back to the winning formula with dire consequences.

Please don't ruin Elder Scrolls!

I am really excited for it, but I am really disappointed they decided to put a monthly fee on the game.

I agree here that I got a bit disappointed in the way that the mythology and tradition of this game was not given its due in the development of this. I am from a family of die hard skyrim players, and in my household, I am hoping this would get my bf to play some PS4 with me.. Lol but instead, after we watched some reviews, it was more of an "I told You so" kind of thing, since he is also a fantasy novel fanatic, so sticking to the original depth of content is a big thing to him. I think the game play should be enough and I will love this game anyway, but then it doesn't seem to compare to other titles for PS4 that are really able to take advantage of the new console.

The Project Red company seems to be putting more speedy dynamic content and game play into their projects. It seems this is a smaller company that is very good at taking advantage of the new PS4 capabilities, if you watch the info on that in the videos The Legend, was reviewed to have more than a hundred hours of game play, so they seem to be able to put the moneys worth into the releases.

I've been a huge fan of the Elder Scrolls series since Morrowind, and even though the 4th and 5th installations (Oblivion and Skyrim) weren't as good as Morrowind, they both were very solid games that offered hours and hours of entertainment to me. I really hope that ESO turns out to be a great game, or atleast good enough so that it won't destroy the series (see Diablo 3). The developers should also keep in mind that we are expecting a TES VI soon, before 2016 for sure, so they'd better start working on it immediately.

I was extremely impressed by the concept of this game and the reveal trailer was incredible however after looking at the game and seeing the performance issues it is having I am now having my doubts. If the game is to be done, it should be done properly and I'm not sure if we're going to be getting the quality that we'll be paying for. And I'm not at all certain I wan to pay for it at all, or if I can even afford it. $60 for the game and then $15 every month is way way too much money, especially if you plan on playing it for about a year, which is how long I spent playing Skyrim, that's $204 for a video game, and I don't think I'd pay that for a game if I was blind drunk. Sorry Elder Scrolls online, but I think I'll wait till you inevitably become free to play.

A monthly fee was expected on something of this calibre in a MMO context.

This. If it was going to be free they could've and should've gone with...LOTR Online, Runescape, or at most Morrowind presentation for the whole thing as opposed to put a lot of time into the visual aspects of it.

...you don't just throw out the good candy to everyone all willy nilly for free...you might do that with Hall's, Altoids, and sugarless gum, but not the good stuff.

I will gladly devote my sleep time to play ESO, seriously. Holy f'n crap I want it ! Give me give me! The main thing is that I'm hoping it isn't just a copy and paste style of all other mmo's out there with repetition galore.

Not the first time I've heard of this game, and let me tell you, it has the potential to become a huge MMORPG, let's see they can keep the hype up.
The monthly fee is a little bit disappointing but needed, this type of games need a big team always working to improve so it's understandable.
I'll try it when the opportunity arrives and I'll review it too.

Agreed 100%. MMORPGs with a good amount of content, has a lot going on, and that look stunning for its generation and platform are usually have that monthly fee in. While I like to believe that people don't care about graphics for the most part, since the visual aspect was hyped heavily for TESO, if they said "We're making the game free and it'll look like this *DCUO/Morrowind visuals*" There would be a fit.

I'd say a graphical cap in addition to the level cap would work if they decided to let have F2P out the gate. Everyone else gets the good candy for their costume while the Charlie Browns get a rock. Of course that would be another fit.
