The Last of Us

With the Last of Us being released WorldWide on the 14th of June will you be picking up your copy?
I personally think the game looks amazing! The graphics, the animations, the environments and characters
all look stunning and I can't wait to play to find out more about the game.

I also think it looks like an amazing game. I'm rarely a person that goes and pre-orders a game or buys it the same week it is released, but I think I will certainly be buying this as soon as I can, it's really going to be awesome!

This game has been receiving so many 10/10s from different review sites! Unfortunately, I don't own a PS3 so I can't play this highly-acclaimed game :/. I guess I'm off to watching Let's Plays on YouTube.

A 10/10??? Wow! And that's coming from IGN! A very reputable video game website. Let me just check...

Okay, I'm pretty impressed! It looks like the Uncharted series but the graphics are so much more beautiful. Also, the setting is very disturbing. Where Uncharted was lighthearted and fun, Uncharted is sad and depressing and scary. But that doesn't mean that it's not a joy to play as the reviewers note. I gotta have this game.

Ever since the first time I've seen this game I've been captivated. I love the look of it and the way that it plays seems interesting. This along with other games really shows how far the industry has come. The fact that I can play a game and sometimes fool an on looker into thinking I'm watching a movie is so sweet and just reminds me that the dream of ultra realistic video games are upon us.

There's been a lot of hype and adverts about The Last of Us and I think the creators know its going to be a hit.
Graphics and screenshots and info about it at the moment makes is sound like one hell of a game that I don't wana miss out on!!!

I fear that this will get quite the DLC packs, so i will just wait for the GOTY edition (which will most certainly happen, seeing the scores it's getting by everyone).

Just read the review of Gamespot.com. How dare they give this game an 8 when all of the other gaming sites are giving it 9s and 10s? I don't want to be a hater of gamespot.com here but I just can't help it. Is the reviewer blind or something? How can he not see greatness right in front of him?

First reviews are coming in. IGN gave this a 10/10.

I saw that; they also mentioned that it's better than the Uncharted series, which I find interesting considering that it's the same studio. If nothing else I'm interested, but still unlikely to buy it until it goes down in price. The only games that I'll buy on day one are games that I know are going to be good, like sequels to excellent games (like, say, Assassin's Creed IV or Arkham Origins) or the next phase in a popular franchise. But I generally trust IGN's reviews; it's how I find out the general consensus on games, even if I don't necessarily agree with everything they say.

So, someone just streamed the entire game for a bunch of people, me included.
Let me just say that i wasn't that interested in the game, but i think i will buy it sooner because i was really impressed with the whole thing - considered it was what i expected from Naughty Dog.

I can't deny that the Uncharted feel is really strong, but it has some different things. The graphics, as expected, were really amazing, the cutscenes are a little too much but they are nicely built, and the gameplay is fluid. The whole game is around 12 hours, less if you are smart and play well.

What can i say more? Expect a sequel, the ending was really "wait, is this the end?", so expect Sony to milk this series in their next console.

I was looking forward to it even before the numerous "perfect"/max scores came out. Naughty Dog has shown that they are committed to high quality games and storytelling which shows through the reviews. I found it interesting that even though they are making such a point about violence that when I showed the game to my father that he commented that, "It is a very violent game" granted, the Rev3 review video did seem to linger on the violence a bit much.

I agree, it seems hard for Naughty Dog to do any wrong at this point. Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 were truly astounding, showing what a concentration on story and digital "acting" can do for a game. While I haven't had a chance to really watch much gameplay for The Last of Us, The clips I have seen are quite impressive, if not a bit aggressively violent. Violence though is critical to this kind of game, really driving home the gritty, visceral feeling of the world they are attempting to build. I would expect nothing less from such an acclaimed development team. I really can't wait to get my hands on this game on the 14th!
