The PS4 is the end of the PS3 era. How long will the PS3 live after PS4 is released?

The PS3 should last quite a long time after the PS4 release. This is simply down to the fact that a lot of people will wait until the PS4 has more games optimized for it before purchasing it, and at the moment we are in a financial crisis where people do not have an extra £300 to blow on a games console. Also, for all those people who have bought the most recent PS3 console, they will want to wait to get their money's worth from the console, before they buy a new one.

lets just say this, PS2 released or is about to Release it's last game this year.
PS2 Release date March 4, 2000
last game is this year 2013.

so maybe we will see new games just as long for "PS3 November 11, 2006", and PS4!!
I think PS3 will see new games till at least 2016.

Yeah, I think a year or two to finally stop game production, but I think it will have support for a few years regarding to updates and such.

Considering Sony's past systems, the PS3 will be supported for a good long time after the PS4 is released. Case in point, Sony still has big games coming out for it. Gran Turismo 6, Beyond 2 Souls, Ratchet and Clank, etc. And just look how long both the PS1 and PS2 had releases well after their successor's releasing.

If I had to guess, I'd say the PS3 will still be supported until the PS4 successor is announced
