The scariest enemies you've ever faced in a Playstation game

Happy Halloween guys! It's that time of the year again wherein we either get spooked or get laid. Wait, that didn't make any sense. Welp, nevertheless, let's talk scary stuff. And when I say scary, I mean this type of scary:

Hoho, I got you there didn't I? So, moving on to the question, what are the scariest enemies you have ever faced in a PlayStation game?

That is pretty scary. I don't really play too many scary games, I guess, but seeing that picture makes me think that I should. I'm mostly just intimidated sometimes, which I think is natural, but of course not really too intimidated since it is only a game. :) This happens to me even on the 2D side scrollers when I see a boss that I know is going to give me a tough time.

I've seen a lot of scary enemies in games like Fatal Frame and Silent Hill and I've been terrified by them. However, nothing beats the tension when I'm faced with the chainsaw toting bad guy in Resident Evil 4. When I hear the chainsaw roar, my heart pounds fast and I run even faster.

The game Parasite Eve has quite a number of villains that scared me, such as the dog that mutated into a hideous being. In fact, the very storyline of the game terrified me to an extent such that I occasionally had to give myself a break after saving.

Not as much scary as surprising and hard. Pierre mon Fraire (nickname we gave) from the first tomb raider.

Also, the part in resident evil 1 where the dogs break through the windows in that corridor you walk through. SCARY!

Probably the Nemesis from Resident Evil 3. My first encounter with it frightened the crap out of me. It was so fast, I was running from screen to screen to try and escape it but I never found out how to beat it.

Haha, yeah, Nemesis was really a pain in the Butt. A rocket launcher came in handy whenever he showed his ugly face. But more often than not, I ran like crazy.

Hmm, Parasite Eve was just plain weird. PE II was pretty scary IMO. The setting was creepy as well. It was a good thing that Aya Brea was such a hottie.

I don't own many scary games, but the first enemy that comes to mind is the first boss in Clock Tower 3. I started playing that game when I was younger, so it's more of a habitual scary for me more than an actual scary. The fact this guy chases you around throughout the town puts me on edge to begin with, and the fact he can pop up out of nowhere and just paralyze you in fear is pretty nerve wrecking. Not many games can really "scare" me, but this one does a good job at placing enemies inside it to do that.

You guys may laugh at me for this, but the scariest enemy to me in any PS game was Edea from FFVIII. I don't know why, but she just terrified me.

Other than that, maybe those Silent Hill dogs. Do you remember those?

Silent Hill dogs on the PS1? Yeah, here they are:

Lol.

I think that they're much scarier than the dogs in the Resident Evil series. And as for Edea? I think she was extremely hot. She was a pain in the butt to defeat though.

I used to play RE3 a lot and Nemesis always scared the crap out of me.
I just hated how he appeared when you less expect it.

I have some old memories of first Playing the original Clock Tower game. It could have been because I was too young to play it at the time, but I really found the guy with the huge scissors really scary. I think the developers made a great job of making the game have a really dark and intense atmosphere. You never knew when you would next bump into him, that game really got to me a lot! I think Silent Hill is next on my list. Every Silent Hill game in the series has been really fun to play, but always made me jump too at some point.

Nemesis from Resident Evil 3, hands down. He's one of the reasons why RE3 is my favourite Resident Evil game as well. Even though I've played it dozens of times I still get that feeling of pressure whenever he's stalking right behind you and chasing you through the police station. The music whenever he's in the area really sets the mood too.

I agree, it would have to be Nemesis from Residents Evil 3. I remember first purchasing this game. I was so afraid to play it on my own. I would always wait until my older brother got home to play it with him, because it terrified me lol.

Anything from Silent Hill, that game had an incredibly creepy atmosphere already and as if that wasn't enough there were those Larval Stalkers and the Doublehead monster. Are you kidding me?I couldn't sleep after seeing those things as a kid.

I never really played any 'scary' games when I was younger, certainly not on the PS1. I guess the closest it would get would be difficult enemies/bosses in games that make fights become 'tense' as they drag on. I've never particularly enjoyed the horror genre anyway, so most things that are designed to scare you don't really affect me. Jump scares will forever terrify me though.

Silent Hill and Resident Evil games BUT the most scary enemy I encountered was Nemises from Resident Evil. Everytime that dude burst through a wall or something I wanted to turn the damn game console off and run to a closet and hide.

Silent Hill is one creepy game alright. The worst is obviously Pyramid Head, such a freakish design on that thing. Whenever that thing appears on my screen I feel like switching the game off.

I agree with what most folks have said above, the Silent Hill series is the scariest to me. I thought the haunted house in Silent Hill 3 was one of the scariest parts. I also agree with lindbergh who mentioned the Fatal Frame series- letting ghosts get that close to you with no real weapon is terrifying! I tried to play Fatal Frame with my SO and she couldn't do it haha. Another more obscure horror game on PS2 is Kuon, IIRC it's set in Medival Japan and involves demons. It's unique and spooky- but at least the hero has a melee weapon!
