Thought you couldn't play online without PS+ ??

I was under the impression that you needed to pay for PS+ in order to access all the online parts of games on the PS4. My 14 trial just expired and I got the email etc to confirm that. Went to play just now and apart from resogun I can still play.

WAR Thunder - works fine
Backllight retribution - works fine

,, and the one I really thought wouldn't,, FIFA14,,, just played a cup game in seasons online H2H ???

Haven't tried online features of shadowfall yet,, but if FIFA works still then begs the question

What exactly will I be paying for if I buy the subscription ???

I believe they said it was up to the developers whether it'll require PS+ subscription.

At least I think somoen from Sony said that, gaming nowadays confuses me more then women do lol

F2P games usually dont need PS+,as already mentioned above,up to the publisher.Backlight etc you dont.
Bought competitive MP bought games you will need PS+ for online MP.
But I see you said you can also play FIFA 14 online,odd..give it a day or 2.Then see if you still can.

It depends on the developers if they want online play behind PS+

Certain games don't require a PS+ subscription, which is another advantage over the XB1. Also games that require their own subscriptions are likely not to require a PS+ as well.
