Thoughts so far?

I had no idea Unity had been released, slipped my mind I guess. Going to be picking it up today after work. I am curious on initial reviews. Does it feel like it is lacking a whole lot without the navel stuff from Black Flag? Another great Assassins game or does it leave much to be desired?

I've just played maybe a couple hours so far, but it's made a good first impression on me. The setting is great and climbing down buildings is just perfection (finally!). Combat has changed a little. It's a tad more challenging now. You can't just counter then kill anymore. To me, it's the first Assassin's Creed game that feels different to the rest. In a good way :)

I did hear that you can no longer just go and take on a bunch of guys and counter them all making you pretty much invincible. I read a review that said stealth was needed much more in this game then any other.

What about framerates? Ive seen vids that show terrible framerate drops and stuttering almost.Thats unacceptable I would think.
Pretty poor on Ubisoft's part.

I've definitely been hearing some mixed reviews, mostly due to technical issues. I think it was the right decision to put this on my gamefly list instead of buying it right away. :P

As I said, I'm only a couple hours in, but I haven't experienced any such thing... yet.

One thing I forgot to mention are the graphics. It's pretty good, but not fantastic. Character's faces aren't really that better then Black Flag's. But it's awesome to see so many citizens on the screen at once! And yes, you can kind of tell that not everything is finished and needed more time. But, that's what you get when you try to push out an entry every single year.

Good to hear. I've read so many bad reviews on the game. Decided not to pick it up.

So I played a bit more and yep, now the problems have shown. Stuttered MAJOR bad a few times. In fact, this game has now annoyed me as I notice more and more problems. Don't know why it worked so well yesterday. Today is just bad. Such a pity. Don't even know if I have the motivation to continue with the game lol.

Thats very poor on Ubisoft's part and often when games are already in stores awaiting the release day there is already a day one patch in the ready but not with this game.
Shame Ubisoft shame.

There was a Day One patch. Pretty big too at 800+ MB.

I partly blame the whole parity issue. If we were able to have the game running at it's most powerful, it wouldn't be so bad. Darn Xbox One and it's hold-backs!

I also tried it yesterday. Looks good to me, but I couldn't try the co-op features because the Uplay server was unreachable. I guess there were too many players connected.

I tried Co-op today too. The only problem is the frame-rate stutters horribly when things get hectic.

From what Ive read even PC version is stuffed, and PC master race gamers can blame Ubisoft too for parity issues and consoles holding their version back.

I had high hopes with this game, when I heard about the glitches I was so dissapointed :(

I wonder they will mess up Far Cry or not.

I agree. My sensation is that softwarehouses are rushing the coming out of new games, leaving the quality behind. The huge sudden upgrades are the demonstration, in my opinion.
For example, The Lord of the Fallen has an upgrade of almost 5Gb (never seen something like this before) and now AC comes with an upgrade of almost 1Gb. Strange, no?

I'll give you worse.

Dead Rising 3 = 16GB Update.
