Unable to proceed after first mission!

After the first mission where you find the ship the game does not allow me to continue once I leave the tower to go to the next mission. I tried deleting the game and reinstalling to start over but that did not work either. I am a complete loss as to why or what happened.

Once you go to the Tower you should actually have a few quest markers. The next set of quests will only begin after running around and following the quest instructions in the tower. Your second quest should come after you pick up your ship and your ghost tells you you need to go back to the cosmodrome and find a hyperdrive.
