Hey guys I am in a bit of a predicament, and I need to make a choice over the next few weeks about which next gen console to get. I feel more inclined to go with the PS4 for a large number of reasons, and when I was at Game ( A British video game store) the guy told me that 3 to 4 Xbox ones are returned each week, whereas the same number of PS4s are returned per month, and sales figures suggest that the PS4 is a lot more popular than the Xbox 1. However when I asked the guy about the online service he told me that its better than the PS3 but not as good as the Xbox 1. But I am not sure what he meant by that.
So what is it just more laggy or do things like matchmaking and party chat not work so well on the ps4, or is the network down all the time? The reason why I ask this is because despite my misgivings about the Xbox 1 I do like Xbox live and do most of my gaming online, so if the PS network is really bad and the ps4 is only better for single player games then I wouldn't want to get one. And even if the online service is as good is the network as "social" as Xbox live. Because although I really don't want to buy an Xbox 1 I have a lot of friends who are sticking to the Xbox 1 on account of their friends buying an Xbox 1 being hard-core Halo fans or my 1 American friend has a disability and wants a ps4 but can only use an asymmetrical controller and cant find 1 for the ps4 or any company that can make him one.
Now this is a problem because I would have had nowhere near as much fun playing games like GTA online without my pals, now if I were to get a ps4 I could make new pals. However I am an older gamer ( Just turned 30) I feel awkward hanging around with ten year old kids and it took me a long time to build up a circle of good friends on XBOX live. What would you do if you were in my shoes? I would appreciate answers from people who are familiar with both platforms.
