What's the future of your PS 3

Let's say you've got the PS 4 and its working marvelously.

I am going to put it into my office and connect it to this huge rig of consoles I have back here. I don't have a PS 3 or blue ray player on this TV so it'll be a welcome edition. I also don't plan on selling it anytime soon. I know at some point that a PC will be able to emulate PS 3 games remarkably well but there's something I like about having the hardware around. I made a few mistakes in the past with selling other hardware I wish I had kept my hands on.

What's in store for your PS 3?

There's no future for the playstation 3, the future is called playstation 4. Sure, people who have ps3 will keep playing the games till they get the new console and some games for it, but once they have all that, they will put the ps3 in a box and let it sit there, because most of the times, new is just better.

That's not always true. I still set up my PS1 and PS2 for the sake of nostalgia, and sometimes I find I'm still missing progress on some games, which I'm happy to finish off when I discover them. Chances are it's going to be the same with the PS3 for me, but the majority of my time will be spent on the new console of course. There are still a few games I want to get for the PS3 that I never had a chance to try, so who knows?

My plan is to keep any console until I either buy a newer version, or until it stops working. Otherwise, I see no reason to get rid of the previous generation(s) while they're still functional. Of course, I'd be more inclined to sell my PS3 if the PS4 had full backwards compatibility.

My PS3 will be sitting next to the PS4. They will become best friends and share beers. Occasionally they will argue over me and who I pay the most attention to, but in the end they will both just look back and laugh. :D

Mine will be keeping me company until I decide to buy a PS4 because I probably won't be buying it for a while and besides, I still have a lot of PS3 games to catch up on. This particular system has a lot more use as an old console than the previous ones though, since it can be used as a TV & Media box as well as allowing you to browse online as well, so I won't have a hard time finding a place to store it.

I think I'm going to play my PS3 for 1 more year before I finally retire it. If I would already have a PS4, I would either give the PS3 to my niece or my cousin. Both of them are avid players of video games and I know that they would greatly appreciate it if I gave them my PS3. If not, I think I would just store it away in one of the drawers in my room along with my PS2 and my NES and my Xbox.

Going to hand it down to my little brother when I get my PS4, of course I'll play PS3 from time to time with him. but more then anything really look forward to PS4!! >=D

When I bought my PS3, I sold my PS2 but because we have a lack of backwards compatibility, I've decided to keep my PS3 at least for the early months after the release when we won't have all that many interesting PS4 games.

I'll probably be keeping it for as long as it works because I see no reason not to. I mean some games will only be coming out for this current generation so might as well play some of the ones I want, also it would just generally be waste since their are still so many games on my PS3 that I love playing.

When I make the transition to the PS4, my PS3 will likely be sold. If I didn't sell it, it would just gather up dust. It would probably be smart to sell it sooner rather than later, but it is my only system I have right now.

I'll move the PS3 to the second TV (my 'second screen experience') in the basement, and plug in the PS4 onto the main setup. I have no reason to dump it, since the PS4 is not a replacement for it, just like the PS3 wasn't a replacement for the PS2. I may not be able to get new games for the PS3, but I can't play old games on the PS4 either. Besides, Sony doesn't care about that so long as I get their new console.

I'll hold onto my PS3 for quite awhile, since there are still games on it very near and dear to my heart, but I imagine at some point I'll have to end up getting rid of it. We'll see what happens, I guess!

Honestly, my PS3 has a nice future, Dragons Crown, Tales of Xillia, Puppeteer, Beyond Two Souls, and GT 6 will make sure I'm playing my PS3 well into 2014. Even with me having a PS 4

There's a bright future ahead of my PS3 because it will be next to the PS4. But while PS4 is yet to be in sight, my PS3 continues to be the center of my universe. It still have a long way to go, and we still have a lot of things to share. :)
