When will Sony stop developing games for the Vita?

I think the Vita is just starting its life. I firmly believe they never developed the Vita for the PS3 which is why there was only minimal support and not a lot of marketing when it first came out a couple years ago. The cross play was pretty weak with the Vita and the PS3 and it wasn't widely supported. When it first came out, I was thinking that with the features of the Vita, it was designed for something in the future. I feel my assumptions were beginning to be true when the PS4 was first announced and they began to talk about the connectivity of the Vita and the PS4. Now all PS4 games have to cross play with Vita and visa versa. The library of games is now finally increasing. I think they only released it when they did to get people used to it being out and generate some buzz for the next generation. Its got at least this generation. I'm sure in a few years when Sony begins developing PS5 that another handheld will be coming out.

I always gathered that PSP was meant for PS3 and Vita was meant for PS4 anyway.

Not anytime soon, that is sure. At least not for PS4's lifespan.

Vita's hanging around for awhile, so expect games for a few more years.
